I love my wife miku and love hearing her through my stax.

is the takstar pro 82 available in your country?
Monoprice 8323, tascam th-02 or monoprice modern retro
I see it on Amazon, yeah.

Miku sounds better on the HD600™.
Yeah because it’s the only way for the shrill weeb noise to sound tolerable, through literal mud.
Listen to mud. Sennheiser.™
best headphones for sissy hypno?
I'll buy one. I like miku on Japanese headphones though like my Sony Z7 and th900 and the endgame STAX

KSE1200 is universally recognized as the best electrostat IEM though? Eardildos are not stats last time I checked.

the headband on my JVC SZ2000 keep snapping, how to I make it strong enough to not snap?
are JVCs the new snapheisers?
Those: was for
ok bat
I fell for Jow Forums meme. I bought the porta pro, ath-m50(not the removable cable one), superlux evo 681, and the HD600. What other headphones meme should I buy to complete the full circle? The Takstar 82, Haafee HD1, or the Stax L700 with the SRS 353x? All these are unironically chink. Also how come there is a combo for SRS-3100 and SRS-5100, but no SRS-7100?
Should I just buy all of them?
Jvc is like superlux, except it sounds worse.
You're missing the DT1990 and a topping DAC
>no SRS-7100
That would be like a $3000 combo considering the next step up from the 353X is the 727tII
don't believe me play a 1K tone and a 3K tone 44dB down on something that isn't a distorting piece of shit
it's audible as fuck
STAX, don't buy the DT1990 it's garbage, has a huge notch in the response.
lol $300 distort machine that barely hit diffuse field vs $6 dd that gone full harmon.
Is there even an audible difference between the SRS-252 vs the SRS-353x energizers? Are these "tune" specifically for L300, L500 respectively?
the l500 is the same as a l300, just with different pads
no energizers are not 'tuned', that's nonsense
Whoops missed the new thread
Where does one buy stock pads for the ath-m50x? Seems to be a grey issue
medium.com
I'm happy with the comfort, they're just worn and manky
Brainwavz makes sheepskin M50 pads (actually for sony 7506), you could try those, they'll last a lot longer too.
amazon.com
if you are american
I went demoing those two specific energizers yesterday, funnily enough, with my L700. I found that the 353X was very very very slightly brighter. It’s almost inaudible depending on your choice of music. But the main thing you’re paying for is the extra power and the balanced inputs.
Not trying to sound like non-believer but do "balanced XLR input" have better sound than RCA? Audibly and measurement-wise? I was trying to read some stuff on balance cable reviews and they seem to swear by it but dunno if they are just wasting money on placebo sugarpills or not. I'm guessing it might be a small difference like comparing usb C to lightning cable but doing the same thing.
underrated
The benefits of Balanced:
lowers noise floor from -90db to -120db
increases input power
Do you need the extra input power and can you tell the difference in the reduced noise? That’s up to you.

Those reviews are some good entertainment. I'd buy one for $30 but for $80, that's gonna be a no. That's like 11 boxes of ferrero rocher.

just lots of random IEM's, and some beats I was given LEL.
I'm looking for something to block out noise in a fairly noisy office so I want active noise cancellation. I'd also prefer wireless since it'll probably be easier to deal with in the office. Easiest
Looking around I notice Sennheiser, Bose, Sony, Plantronics, Logitech etc. all have active noise cancelling headphones in my price range so I'm kind of lost as which to buy.
I'm willing to go higher on price if necessary but it's a lot easier for me if I keep it under $575 NZD because I then I can claim them as a taxable expense instead of depreciating them.

They can be an SNR improvement if and only if the interconnects would be the weakest link in your system, so only for very high-end gear basically. This isn't really much of an audible concern for home gear, but very important for recording studios.
Keep in mind that this only applies to analog interconnects, using balanced headphone cables and outputs actually increases noise and distortion, the only advantage is more power for battery-operated devices.
How old were you when you realized that audiophile headphones were a scam?
19, after trying HD600s and realizing they sound way worse than KSC75s
lol
how will austinmichael1738 ever recover
seems like a pretty fair amount of DACs at this price point. any of them going to be better than the rest for around that price or should i just pick whatever has the best amazon reviews? i just use my sony 1000x wired on my pc because windows 7 blutooth is fucky so i'm not really worried about crazy hifi stuff at the moment.
amazon.com
The picture and link you posted is not a DAC, it's an amplifier. If you don't care about hi-fi just buy the Fiio 10k (amp + dac). Amir measure it and it was good enough under 100usd.
But is the extra power even necessary for different stax models? I just checked stax's website and it appears everything from the 009S to the L300 are the same sensitivity. 101db/100V r.m.s. with an impedance of 145k ohms. The only one different (from the current lineup) is the 007 which lists 100db/100V r.m.s at 170k ohms. With L300 on the 252s I dont take it past 11 o'clock on the knob, so I dont see any point upgrading past that if everything is the same efficiency.
For an on-the-go set of wireless headphones, how are the Sony XB950N1 for $120?
and for a warm sounding pair of wireless headphones, what would you guys recommend?
>fiio e10k
don't do this. fiio announced the successor to the e10k. forget the name though
>But is the extra power even necessary for different stax models?
as usual greater amplification is only useful for bass boosting and/or filter whoring
you won't believe it but they're amazing
HD600 mids with excellent, tight bass. an audiophile's delight, that's what these are
buy it now, just buy it
I'm guessing most stax owners are not eq'ing their stax though
we do here. definitely not at headcase or other sites though
based sony employee
If you have a mid range motherboard it'll probably have a decent DAC already. I wouldnt say its worth investing more for an external one, you'll probably wont be able to hear the difference
ok my bad, not really sure i understand what these really do i guess. i have noticed sometimes even on full PC volume things aren't loud or as punchy as they should be, the sound is just... flat. will an amplifier do the trick? what would a DAC do for my current headphones that an amplifier wouldnt? (i am aware that it converts digital to analogue, just curious what that would actually mean for me not using audiophile grade headphones)
what's amazing? the sonys, or the sennheisers? because the sennheisers are wired so that'd be a no from me, chief
