The iMac, zero spatial overhead.

if it's a workstation of that kind of budget, you should have a setup that can deal with a little bit of room being taken up. spatial overhead is quite a non-issue

>you should
Not your money, not your PC, not your rules. If I want performance, I'll stick a dual xeon tri-Titan workstation in my basement and interface it through ethernet. My room has to be nice and clean.

>Not your money, not your PC, not your rules.
I cringed reading that.

The imac is not overpriced. It is like a 286 with a case made out of gold that costs 8000 dollars.
There IS 8000 dollars in gold there, but it performs like a 286.

Honestly the Radeon Pro is the only attractive thing for the Mac.
It gets BTFO everywhere else.

>There IS 8000 dollars in gold there
you mean $9 of can aluminium?

check this one.

> pretends to have a dual xeon tri-Titan workstation
> calling others poor on an anime imageboard
why would you do this?

Fucking retarded reading comprehension

>I can build an amazing PC for the same price with higher specs
>i-it doesn't run macOS though
Into the trash it goes. Why would you gimp hardware with garbage software intentionally? Are you a masochist?

> he unironically uses macOS

Good luck transporting the second build

Yes, but there are all the manufacturing processes and bullshits they do to make the computer that small, and this ends up making the price of the BASE model.
The base model of anything apple is on a fair price, if you're willing to spend your money into stupid visual fluff instead of reliable components.
As soon you add any upgrade, then you start to be overcharged.

The gold 286 of my analogy is kinda the same, there is 8000 dollars in components there, but most of the money will be spend into getting a machine with bling, not performance.

You should learn how to actually understand posts.
My point is that technically speaking, apple products aren't overpriced but that is not the problem with em.
If you buy an imac, you will get all your 4000 dollars in design and parts, but it will be shit because you did let apple choose how they spend the budget and they do crap with it.

Where are the Pop Tarts?

>you will get all your 4000 dollars in design and parts
Wrong.
You get $1000 in design and parts, and a $3000 profit margin.

mactoddlers will defend this

If you actually do the math and stuff, the BASE model don't have a huge profit margin.
But just upgrade ANYTHING of the mac and the profit margin skyrockets.
On this machine: I bet at least 8000 dollars are profit margin.

>make useless trash base model to upsell hugely profitable upgrades and accessories
INNOVATION

Exactly.
Buy base model, pay a lot for shit you don't wanted.
Buy fully upgraded model, still pay a lot for shit you didn't wanted AND overpay on the shit you needed.

The iMac pro, less space, can actually resell it for 2.5k when you upgrade, warranty is hassle free.

I'd take the self-built, but a normie would take the iMac for practicality.

Which one has macOS? yep, that one wins

Why would you get that monitor? Get a ultra wide for half the price.

>t. mactoddler

>t. pajeet

>swap a stick of 970 memory and upgrade the 2070 for a 2080 ti.

but that would make the mactoddler kill himself user.

>$5k on a PC

well... that's all the stuff... like monitor, keyboard, mice, etc
