>RGBT edition

Im trying to install my 8700k on my z370 board but it feels like too much resistance when I close it again.
What do?

>no vga output
>not even vga pins on the dvi port

Attached: 1506434600496.jpg (346x488, 17K)

push harder faggot.

People still use VGA? Time to upgrade, grandma.

Attached: vega.jpg (970x647, 99K)

this is quickly getting out of hand.

I didnt want to buy a new monitor yet. And now Im stuck here with no video. Guess i can buy a converter

Is this real?

I'm buying a 1070ti Titanium
how about that fellas

Shit nigga, I'm scared. The whole thing creaks.

wait for 2060

HARDER!

That's normal.

But I'm buying it for $150 cheaper than the 2060's price in my country? It's ~25 days old and unused, from a friend. Transferable warranty and everything.

So it looks like Microcenter just discounted the 2700x to $280 and the 9700K to $230. Which should I go for?

>6gb vram
'no.'

yes

You surely mean 9600k

wait for Navi

I mean 9600k, sorry, typo.

>just wait
no man, I'm done, I'm buying an XB271HU along with the 1070ti, fuck waiting.

some people want to live, you know?

Is Vega 64 good? Found someone dumping their stock for $549, other sellers are offering it for $700+. Sapphire nitro+.

looks like you made up your mind already

I can also get a 1070Ti for $500

Those are near 2080 prices, I would pass.

you'll need a new PSU if yours is under 750W, otherwise grab a discounted gtx 1080 instead or wait for rtx 2060

Give me a replacement for my 580 since it die'd 3 months after i bought it

No Nvidia shit thx

Please rate my maximum retard build, 32 GB RAM is non negotiable and the motherboard was after a full day of filtering through Gaymurr shit.
Also I'm having difficulty picking out monitors.
pcpartpicker.com/list/cvQnhy

Warranty?

how did it die?

cope, Navi is vaporware

buttcoinage

There is nothing that I would not consider wrong with this build.
10/10

Cheapest 2080 I could find is for 840 dollars.

I got a good enough PSU but it got coil whine so I was thinking of getting a new one anyway. 1080 are selling for $750 or so.

>tfw I could order this right now but I don't really need it
feels good being employed desu

try 2nd hand, I got mine for 400€ off Amazon refurbished

Mmmhhh

No fucking idea
I was playing normally, then boom my computer ded
I tried to restart it, but it was completely dead, no bios, no fans spinning, nothing
I removed the GPU and am now using intel graphics and everything is going fine

Gee user, how come your mom let's you have 3 4k monitors?

Is that in Australian dollars? Keep an eye on Jow Forumsbuildapcsales and you'll find them from $600-650 once a week usually.

Why are you moaning at me? No I was asking if you tried to warranty it. Any decent company would replace a card that died so soon.

American, I live in a socialist shithole. I could order one from amazon but I would most likely have to pay a 30% toll.

I'm moaning because I didn't think about that

The GPU is an xfx, are they a decent company?

Explain. I live in Jew York and they always sales tax my amazon, and I thought that was bad

No idea about xfx, you could contact them anyway then tell us how it went.

Did you try putting the GPU back in after?
Because that could also be a motherboard or power supply issue.
A dead GPU should let the computer power on, it just wont post or somethings just wont display anything

Keep an eye out on newegg. Sometimes they add a 60 dollar off code on their 2080's

>Did you try putting the GPU back in after?
Yes, still no signs of life

If it were the PSU why then everything works fine if I use the intel graphic card?

from what I heard xfx are very cool about their warranty, give em a call.

actually before you do that, can you test the gpu with another pc to make sure it's really the gpu that's the problem?

Never undervolted a gpu before. Is it worth doing it on my rx 590? What are the actual benefits?

Currently working on a fairly modest build.
Probably either a 6 core ryzen while I wait for 3000 series or maybe an 8 core and wait to see what Intels 7nm offerings look like.
But where I need help is monitors. I do hobbyist level photography. And I've always done everything on 1080p. But I recently upgraded my snappyboi and now I'm dealing with editing 24 megapixel images instead of 18 and all the scrolling gets tiresome.

So
>Tldr
Thinking of going 4k monitor. I don't game much so gaming at 4k isn't a concern. The extra screen space is for photo editing. I do game occasionally but am perfectly happy gaming at 1080p
So questions are:
>any particular brands/models to avoid
>any essential features
>does it stress the GPU to 4k levels to run 1080p windowed game over a 4k desktop ?
>does switching back and forth between 1080p full screen game and 4k desktop hurt the monitor?
>am I better off aiming for happy middle with full time 1440?

>If it were the PSU why then everything works fine if I use the intel graphic card?
Lower power consumption.
Motherboard could be dead PCIe slot too.
Well you should probably call it in on warranty anyway it's mostly likely the GPU if plugging it back in just straight up kills everything.
I'm just really skeptical about this sort of shit because every time i have a problem with my computer it's always the last thing it seems to be.

Unfortunately no

Redpill me on reference blower style cards. Most of the vegas I find available are these. Will I have to buy and install a separate cooling system?

Attached: 6df7c3532934f426daca586d5f21635e.1600.jpg (640x480, 38K)

Let's say that a used GPU which has been used for just gaming is selling for $230: how much would you pay for a GPU that's been used for mining?

I was going to get the vega 56 but opted for a new rx 590 instead. The blower style cards seem like they run way too hot and loud, and that's the last thing I want. I saw a non reference 56 on ebay and it was snapped up within an hour. I'm going to wait until they become more available at a lower price on ebay.

r8 my poverty build, plz and ty.

Attached: 1542153871835.png (500x502, 140K)

Zero. Cryptofags stay broke.

>going APU without using dual channel memory
Go 2x4gb

Not a bad idea desu, I'm basically looking for the final boss of high refresh 1080p and a Vega 56 or 64 seem like more than enough.

Also you dont need a 550W psu for that build. Not even close.

I'm accommodating for future upgrades.

My original plan was to buy a 1070, but I already have a 4k freesync monitor so I opted for less power. I've only been able to test games for 20 minutes so far but I feel that I have made the correct decision so far. I'm still able to run gta v in 1440p 60fps, though it drops to 45+ when I go completely off road etc.

Pretty sure vega 56 would destroy anything at 1080p from the little research that I have done. Doubt that you'd need the 64, unless you're playing at really high framerates.

can i control my case fans based on gpu temps? speedfan only detects my hard drives

uk.pcpartpicker.com/list/kPN43b
Fixed your build bro

I want to buy a 250GB ssd for my laptop: MX500 or 860 EVO? the MX500 is slightly cheaper(€5 less)

Which RGB ram looks the best, Gskill TridentZ or Corsair Vengeance Pro?

>750W for Vega 64
Why are retards still suggesting this? 650W is plenty and even 600W or 550W can power it just fine given that you're not running a CPU with a massive TDP and a trillion fans and waterpumps. People have tested actual power draw from the wall on various systems and most single GPU systems can run on 450W. Get a good quality PSU first and a high wattage psu second.

>Running your psu at 80% is fine guys!

Why doesnt /pcbg/ recomend the i5 8400 for gaming ?

Because this is amd general

>Leather jacket lady

pcpartpicker.com/list/qxdPdX

how did i do?

needs more RAM

>why doesnt /pcbg/ recommend 2600k for gaming
Because theyre both obsolete. If you have one already its still good enough but not worth buying new.

>Intel
You make me sad sir ⋞_⋟

Just get an i9 bro

Salt mostly.
An 8400 is pretty decent for the price for gaming

Overpriced, dead end platform.

that sounds really uncomfortable

Budget is weird because I'm on Mexico and it's around 35k MXN. All of the parts on both builds are pretty much the same around 33k + the case and cooling so that seals the deal.

Is this ok?

pcpartpicker.com/list/XjxdP3

What is up with these cheap EVGA 2080's and 2080 ti's? How come those are cheaper than the other cards in the same series? Are they worse or something?

Asking because I was gonna just get this EVGA 2080 newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814487415

Should I?

>7700k
Lmaooo even 8400 is better than that piece of shit.

They sort out the ones that can hold a stable overclock and charge more for them. Even the base model 2080 will kick ass.

>buying components solely for gaming
>6 cores on a ded socket in 2019
>swiss cheese security

Lower binned chips.
They're like 5% slower than the FE and higher end 3rd party cards

Any recs for a decent 256GB ssd?

can also spend more if it's worth it

Which one of these 4 is the best one? They are all the same price. The blower just a tiny bit more expensive but it's irrelevant.

Attached: 2080s.png (623x632, 128K)

I'd go with the PNY but they are all probably identical really

ASUS is the best board partner I see there. I did have coil whine on one card though.

It's not that simple though.
AMD is:
>Promises and Just Wait™ for optimisation and better processors
>Need better cooler, mobo and RAM to beat the 8400
And of course people dont use their computers soley for gaming, it's just most people dont game and also transcode a lot of video or 3d render. The other shit they do is shitpost on Jow Forums or opening up 36 tabs in chrome, both things that dont really benefit from having mroe than 2 cores really.

Let's say I have some cheap-ass DDR4 RAM (2133-2400MHz), how fucked am I realistically if I am to buy 2600X? I've read some terrible shit like there's no point in buying 2600X with cheap RAM.

Literally running 2133 overclocked to 2400 with a 2600x right now. It's fine.
I will upgrade but I'm in no hurry.

People act like your processor won't work if you don't have fast ram, which is retarded. Ryzen just scales better than any other processors with faster ram, so its a possible upgrade path with real benefits. Buy the cheap ram now, xmp it like user said, and upgrade if you feel like it down the line.

>And of course people dont use their computers soley for gaming, it's just most people dont game and also transcode a lot of video or 3d render. The other shit they do is shitpost on Jow Forums or opening up 36 tabs in chrome, both things that dont really benefit from having mroe than 2 cores really.
so most would be better off with ryzen 5 which is $50 cheaper with insignificant decrease in ipc for average users.
