You should be banned, nigger.
60/40 flux core or gtfo

Now that's good solder. Very easy to use. No cold joints.

thats a good wisdom

It's pronounced solder.

Mods ban this technology hating glownigger

This

Any good resource about soldering good practices, advices and shit?

nu-Jow Forums at its finest.

>watch meme rossman
>clean your soldering tips

>make sure you're using a helping hands or something to hold the work pieces for you.

Leaded solder is essentially banned in my country, only aerospace industry is allowed to buy it since a few years back

Don't breathe the smoke

If you are in a well ventilated area, it doesn't matter.

the smoke is all flux. the vapor pressure of lead at soldering temps is like 0.000000x mbar, i.e. there's no lead worth mentioning in the air.

>use hippie non-leaded solder
>burn sensitive part/have shitty solder joints because of the high heat requirement

Nah thanks, I'll pass.

>being such a cuck
I can literally buy leaded solder at a small local shop here, and no one gives a fuck.

Any other user able to confirm this? I've always had this suspicion but still erred on the side of caution.

Americunts mispronouncing it should be

Tin-lead solder just works.
Silver-based solder is shit to work with.

Sure thing Mr.Steinberg. Ban leaded solder, so I can't even do BGA reflows on the shit I own, so that they actually work for more than 2 years without repair.

What satanic ritual is this?

Drag soldering

It's called soldering.
The solder will only stick to the pads on the board, and the leads on the chip. As long as you don't gob too much of it on, it should neatly attach like that.

>takes a big wiff
>SSSNNIIIIFFFFFFFF
whoah really makes me solder

Just do it in your backyard on a table on a windy day and orient yourself upwind. Don't tell me you're some sort of insectoid apartment dweller, user?

But it IS banned. At least in the civilized world

Attached: images.png (225x225, 6K)

It is banned already except for critical parts in, defense, automotive and celluar technologies.

Without buying a new one, you meant to say?

Nah, they'd have to ban ovens for that too.

Oh wait.

>it's banned except for when you need a good quality joint

I will be sure to use the lead-free alternatives at all those times when I want my shit to break instantly.

but it smells the best

For commercial use dumbass.

Well yeah, that's all that matters.

Eurotrash up to their usual shit again.

>fuck the normal person no reliable electronics for you
This is indefensible, fuck the fucking jewish bureaucrats who implements shit like this

I have two huge rolls of solder that i owned in the 1970's and forgot about. I found them in a box I put in the attic in about 1979
will that solder still be useable, will it still retain the properties it should have if new?

Is bronze still bronze after being in the dirt for thousands of years?

holy shit man, how old are you?

do you like anime?

I don't know man I'm not an archeologist

>M-MUH GROUNDWATER

The flux is still giving you cancer. In fact the leadless solder flux core is probably worse than the leaded kind, you're not getting any lead vapor from soldering but your getting nasty shit into your brain from the flux vapor

Well I started using that solder - both reels seem to retain their flux and I have no problems for what I need but my needs are slight, in as much as maybe i solder wires to switches or solder the legs of LED's and it works fine but I thought maybe if some people were expert electrical geniuses they may feel that such old solder was useless for things where quality was essential

oops erm i dont like anime movies but I like the anime style - this is one of my favourite pictures ever

(You) are the reason my old GPU is in the landfill and not on my desk. The shitty lead-free solder you shill makes bad joints that wear out with heat/cool cycles.
