I don't get it, does this mean it will run at 9400°F?

>Intel raising the tdp through the roof just to stay competitive
I love this timeline so much.

Where are the 10nm parts tho?

HOW MUCH GOD DAMNIT HOW MUCH IS IT

A little over 200 usd

Apparently Amazon had it listed at $200. Check out the article's comments.

> F
what?

Can't decide if I should get this or wait for Ryzen 3.

It's intel's new designation for desktop chips without a iGPU.

It is just a 8400 with a fused IGP and hardware-level Meltdown/Spectre mitigations.

>buy another motherboard goyim
No.

>hardware-level Meltdown/Spectre mitigations
Disabling SMT would hardly qualify as a "hardware-level mitigation".

$182

$150 for 6 cores with the best single thread performance on the market

>random release
>thread titled "it's over (for AMD)"
what did OP mean by this

>single thread performance
Is it still 2003 according to intel? holy shit they can't keep clinging to this when ryzen is so competitive and gives moar cores.

Microcode might be updated, but actual hardware level mitigations won't be seen for some years.

Nothing uses moar cores. I didn't 5 years ago and it won't 5 years from now.

It' might be time to upgrade from Sandy Bridge. That's a good deal really. Though I'd hate to lose 2 threads.

>Nothing uses moar cores

zen+ processors have 5% higher IPC than coffeelake ones so a 3.9GHz ryzen 2600 processor has the same performance as a 4.1 GHz coffeelake processor. They essentially have the same performance, the ryzen one is just clocked lower.

The catch is unless you use good CL14 3200MHz RAM there will be a bottleneck on the infinity fabric which means higher core latency and lower single threaded performance. Intel needs to stop dicking around and release 10nm cannonlake already.

i'm just making shit up user

Shouldn't have glued two cpus together.

Whatever the case using better RAM drastically improves performance so much a 2700X will match an i7-8700K despite lower clocks. Remember that i7s with HT have higher IPC than i5s without HT.

The rumor is zen 2 somehow fixed this and added 5-10% higher IPC on top of that. We'll know soon enough.

Fail

It's over (Intel lost). 9400 F keys for respect
For AMD!

would not fuck

when will intel discontinue i3?

I bought an 8400 at release. Yes it is based. Yes you should buy the 9400.

never coming out

I'm investing into dry ice and LN2 production systems. I suggest anyone who wants to make money does the same.

Fahrenheit

Makes me feel good amd shills are still on damage control over the 8400 performance 14 months later. I onow i made the right choice

>6c6t
>no hyperthreading
>base clock 2.9
oh no no no no no ahahahahahahaa
"Failure"
lol explain the CES demo then.
no rumor, just watch the ces vid. 75w "r5-3600?" (8c16t) vs 130w intel 9900k (8c16t) wins out single threaded in a clock-for-clock, core-for-core comparison

>>no hyperthreading
>>base clock 2.9

How will AMD ever recover?

the igpu is one of the only good things about intel chips. Great for troubleshooting shit.

Reminder that hyperthreading is nowhere near real cores.

fixed

AMD can't compete with Intel's superior IPC. Not even with a node shrink and new arch.

also wondering this

the only place i see them having a spot in the market is in netbooks and other low tdp stuff

then again they have quad core unlocked i3s if you're down to ball on a budget

>Best Ryzen 3000 cpu barely beats an 14nm 9900k.
AMD is a joke. Sunny cove will make AMD go bankrupt once again.

All the good software still rely on a strong main core, so single thread performance will always be important.

>tfw poorfag so will never know the feel of having a top quality Intel cpu
;_;

>Engineering sample beats Intel's best
stay cucked

just

STEINS GATE

>Ryzen 7 beats Intel i9
Surely Ryzen will have a 9 variant that destroys i9

and it will be more funnier if the sample is not a Ryzen 7 but a Ryzen 5

>best single thread performance on the market
>locked to 4.1 Ghz, not overclockable

It's bad enough you're shilling, must you also lie?

read the thread

>no iGPU
is there still VP9/h.265 accelerator in here????

Probably not considering it was the GPU that did that, was it not?

>Reasons to consider X: NONE
kek that's pretty brutal

Every single year someone says
>literally nothing

retards ITT are acting surprised about performance diff between 9400 and 8400, just kys

>no immunities
Bullshit. Everyone who sees this post is forever immune from "your mother will die" shitposts.

I don't know too
but quicksync is sure ditched

>ES based on a mid-tier SKU beats Intel's best non-HEDT consumer CPU
nothin personnel, kid

Just like the 8400 would kill AMD for good, right?

> Where are the 10nm parts tho?
What 10nm parts?

So, they have the 9900 Kelvin, now they have the 9400 Fahrenheit.

> $150 for 6 cores with the best single thread performance on the market.
AMD just beat the 9900K's single threaded performance with a Zen v2 chip that was probably not running more than 4GHz, with roughly 75W power consumption.

Core i3 8121u

I thank Intel for It's service of only increasing speeds by 3% every gen when I was a student poorfag. My 3570k lasted me almost a decade lmao. And now that I have money I can switch over to Ryzen 3000.

>300 dollar engineering same that is under clocked and memory gimped to make it fair for intel BTFOs Intels BEST cpu AND has room for 8 more cores.

lmaoing @ intel

Oh fuck I forgot It was a 3600 they showed so a $200-250 chip BTFOs Intlels $600 chip lmao.

What's faster?

4core/8t
or
6core/6t

what about 8c/64t?

It's constantly paying respects.

6/6
HT doesn't do magic 2x linear perf scale though

Let me tell you why this piece of shit chart is the biggest bullshit parroted by drones
>OC
>faster RAM
>optimized subtimings
Hardware Unboxed did a separate video on Battlefield where 8600K (not a 8400 but still stock) destroyed 2600X by almost 30%.

At least post the real chart.

Attached: 1546998244442.png (2560x1440, 785K)

4c/8t is most definitely better than 4c/4t but 6 true cores will win.

Attached: 4C4T4C8T6C6TChart_Percents.png (1281x769, 60K)

Instead of making another SKU why doesn't Intel just churn out more 9400/9600/9700/9900 so their prices would drop to MSRP?

cpu.userbenchmark.com/Compare/Intel-Core-i5-6600-vs-Intel-Core-i3-6300/3514vs3536

2 Intel CPUs of the same gen.
i5-6600 has 4 physical cores, i3-6300 has 2 physical core + hyperthreading.
The i5 does 35% better in multi-core situations, extrapolating to 6 cores would make it just about 2 times as strong as the i3.
i3 with 4 cores/8threads would be also 2 times as strong as the regular.

The i3 has a higher base clock though.
So if everything else is equal (same architecture, clock speed) the 6core/6t would be faster by a decent margin.
It's also easier to program for 6 physical cores rather than 4+4fake cores so real world performance would be even more in favour of 6/6.

not this shitto again

INTEL POZZED STUTTERFIRES

Attached: 1528292848450.jpg (811x1024, 223K)

Intel gets an 'F' for failure.

Because they are too expensive to make on monolithic dies.

2600 + 3200CL16 ram + B450M mobo = 349,65€
8400 + 2666 ram + B360M mobo = 373,62€

2600 can be overclocked, 8400 can't. Not really a though decision to make which one these is better.

Plus an upgrade path to ryzen 3x00

Maybe much later when 3000 series CPUs start popping up for sale used, as it really doesn't make much sense to update your stuff that often

8400 is already overclocked

>newest uarch
>not the best ipc
Are you fucking retarded? Do you think that IPC is worse because they added 4 more cores?

>You can only.buy used CPUs
Fuck off retard.

Brainlet here
Can 8400/9400 be use with 3200MHz ram???

>Processor base frequency

AMD sure is finished.
