I have never, ever, ever had anything go wrong with Japanese-made electronics. Just hasn't happened. Chinese-made stuff is really hit and miss. I find that, generally speaking, things made in China by foreign companies (Korean, Japanese, Taiwanese, American) tend to be alright, but with notably higher failure rates than my Japanese stuff. Stuff made by native Chinese companies is almost invariably terrible. The lone exceptions to this are Zhiyun's Gimbal camera stabilizers and Lenovo's Thinkpads. But even the latter are engineered by Japs, so does it really count?
