If you care about the obscure music on RED and aren't just trying to hear the new Imagine Dragons album one complements the other perfectly. It's like RED is the bank and deezloader/smloadr is the money. You can upload random crap from it and get a bunch of buffer and avoid downloading anything that's on deezer to save it. That's what I did at first but now I have so much buffer I don't even have to bother with it unless something isn't on RED. That just means I get even more buffer! It's a great system.

So I have qBittorrent seeding and downloading public torrents, so I need DHT enabled for that. Will private trackers (that disallow DHT) notice or care if I use the same client? Or should I download a second client, like Transmission or some shit, and learn how to use that one and use it without DHT?
Nope. You are fine. Disabling dht is a precaution in case the torrent file from the private tracker didn't have private flag enabled and caused a swarm leak. Unless you are in an utterly incompetent place you are good.

That's the thing though, there's too many different categories of obscure media that I consume. Even if it can be found on public sites there's so many fucking hoops to jump through to get it. I could be paying for all these different file hosts, usenet indexers, usenet providers... Not to mention waiting twice as long or longer on public trackers if there's any seeds at all. There's this scene group called GCP that releases vinyl rips of funk/soul music from the 60s, 70s, and 80s. I'm a big fan of their rips and I've been archiving them for years. Since it's such niche esoteric content it isn't always easy to find on RED. Nobody will upload them if they dupe a CD or flac vinyl rip already on the site. I've spent a lot of time tracking them down and cleaning them up. I'm trying to get a good tracker for 0day mp3 so I can get them while they're new. Even on those they don't stay seeded long so the older ones have to be tracked down elsewhere. Most the other stuff I want is all on private trackers and easy to get.
PTP had open sign ups back in 2012 or so.
