/hpg/ - Headphone General

What do you mean mate I can totally hear when the noise floor is at -93 or -96 dB, huge difference in music I tell you, really pays off ruining your headphones with mods because now the plankton travels through two cables

There is no difference to appreciate, unfortunately. There's no need to shill for balanced, just enjoy your headphones.

Wait, HD58X has bass?

There's a BIG following...

3dB is, technically, double the signal strength. Look it up:

The more you defend your headphones on /hpg/ the better they will sound. Everyone knows the spergfests at /hpg/ do nothing but further entrench either side in their original opinion. In reality, this is a mutually beneficial relationship because as you get more emotionally invested in your headphones, the placebo effect and confirmation bias kicks into high gear letting you enjoy your headphones more. Therefore, I prescribe every poster on /hpg/ an hour per day of zealously shilling their headphone of choice.

Buy STAX.

A 3dB difference is, practically, absolutely inaudible when most devices have over a 100 dB SNR.
Might as well buy something that has a flat frequency response up to 100 kHz. Technically five times the range, in the real world completely useless and pointless.
