Not a boomer but...am I just crazy or are zoomers not very tech-savvy? I don't mean colorful, user-friendly tech either.

Most zoomers don't do shit with tech and the few that do think they're "smart" for putting together a PC. There's very few kids interested in hardware beyond a general understanding.

Zoomers grow up in a world where they are surrounded by social media influencers and advertisers. They cave to peer pressure before they even know it, on mass scale. They have no idea what OS they are running, the pros/cons of any of it. All they really know is the social status of owning a device that will make them seem richer or poorer, or how "cool" they will look using a certain product within their group of friends.

Old people that understand tech at least a little don't like that, they don't like being spied on, they don't like opening a browser and having 6 new ads show up telling them what cool item to buy, or what news (((they))) direct them to.

19 year old zoomer here. New video games are all hot garbage. You're paying $60+ to get some half assed online-only lecture about how niggers and queers are people too. Fuck that. I wiped my Windows partition and went full Debian (now migrated to Devuan) about a year ago. Not even looking back. I'd rather spend my time programming or fucking about with bread boards to build something interesting.
