I do agree with diversity in the workplace, but I think that we will see many negative effects for a bit. The idea is that people of different backgrounds effectively bring different implicit rules to the table, whether it be large things, like ideas of morality, or small things, like burping. This increases the complexity of social interactions substantially. What was once steadfast social norms quickly becomes confusing interactions. To solve this, we must ask "why" cultures are rather than "what" culture should be. This is the only way to simplifying the chaotic mess of new rules that have just been brought to the table. As long as people are pushing "what" culture should be, there isn't going to be any progress.

You should ask the white people that americans and europeans keep electing.

In my tech company I heard people talking about some guy getting hired but others were trying to figure out a way to get rid of him but they couldn't because he already accepted the offer. They were trying to get rid of him because nearly everyone in the company is white and most are males and they found a woman applicant later in the interviewing efforts and they wanted to get her instead because there's too many men.

I think you're thinking too hard about this. Most people who do not like foreigners or people from other group seem to not like them because of some innate disposition toward mistrust of the out group, an instinctive belief that if someone is not part of some identity they define themselves by, that these people do not share their fate and have divergent interests from them. This disposition precedes observation in the world.

They think "this Indian guy is not like me, not part of my group, and is actually part of a rival group. There is the possibility that he and people like him could fuck me over and would benefit from it whereas me and people like me would lose from it. He and I do not rise and fall at the same time."
