Why is this so shitty? I'm not asking "what reasons are this shitty for", I'm asking why was this made as if the goal was specifically to make the shittiest version of windows? Why was it shilled so hard after that fact, and why are most companies in lockstep with it?
Is there some ulterior motive here or is it pure high octane incompetence going completely unchecked?
Are there any names of people responsible or any bullshit excuses they've come up for why it's specifically so shitty in almost every single regard?
It's more profitable for them >Getting rid of their testing branch if favor of the insider users reduces their cost >Ads and more datamining results in more revenue
Owen Collins
its nothing but a data mining tool. the fact that it gets shilled so hard by the whole system should make you think
Jaxson Campbell
This. MS shares have gone up since W10. That's all that matters.
Wyatt Nelson
-Native FLAC and MKV support -Actually being able to click on a button to go up a directory -Mounting disk image files in Explorer -Better file transfer dialogues -Native notifications (and related features to manage them like the focus stuff thats been expanded to more use cases as mentioned in this artcle) -Modern design scheme (I look at it all day, it should look decent) -Multiple desktops -Timeline (very useful for going back to a doc I was working on for example) -Better multi monitor support -Better touch and gesture support -Windows 10 store and related apps (lighter, sandboxed apps, easier updates, same features and some even add native integration for things like VPN functionality which is way slicker than using a separate client every time. only downside is troubleshooting games is tougher due to your limited access) -Actually solid (if no frills) native mail, AV, photos, and video software -SSH from powershell (fuck you putty) -Better sound control (per-app settings, easy switching sources) -At a glance calendar and weather views in start menu and lock screen -Quickly turn off/on wifi, change brightness, etc. via touch -Far more update options, though this certainly didn't start out that way. -More native drivers but that should be expected in a newer Windows version -Better built in features for checking things like storage usage -Very good native game screenshot tool
But right, it's shit, and they don't update it twice a year to improve it or anything
Henry Thompson
The only thing that Microsoft improved in the last decade was the PR team.

>2 minutes after this is posted WHERE DID ALL THE PEOPLE DEFENDING IT GO?
I was hoping to avoid using wushowhide or doing manual offline updates, but it looks like it's not possible anymore. Thanks, Pajeets. I sure love being a beta tester.
Wyatt Thomas
>not using ltsc retard
Luke Hughes
LTSC has the same problem. These are monthly updates.
Alexander Lewis
Anyone that uses Win10 for whatever reason, preference, work, whatever and doesn't use LTSC has no one to blame but themselves.
Pretty sure it has bugfixes too (Quality updates).
Mason Evans
>-Windows 10 store and related apps well, if we being generous, you at least made it halfway down your 'list' before the real barrel-scraping started. JFI, presenting Windows Store as an, in any way shape or form, advantageous feature of an OS, renders both your entire post invalid and you liable to personal ridicule >they don't update it twice a year to improve it no, apparently not. It remains a mystery actually why MS go through the troublesome process of causing so much annoyance for so little gain
William Gray
Windows 10 is the rehash/optimization of Windows 8, and Windows 8 was developed under the assumption that Touch would replace all devices in home and business, in addition to building adware and spyware into the base OS.
It's that simple.
Brody Gray
kek, did you just paste this shit from a MS-supplied shill pasta? You are talking about an article but didn't even include one. My favorite part is how half these points are fucking nonsense. Yeah, let's support FLAC and MKV so we can play it in Windows Media Player (tm). Let's have ISO support but not all the other image types so you still have to download the same software you would have needed to mount an ISO.
The UI design is considerably worse. Why is there menu style mixing so much? Why are there like 3 different fucking keyboard options settings menus for instance? I like how they have this start pinning shit but no hotkey support when everyone opens start with the Win key. Why can I not make the start bar smaller if I only have like 2 programs bigger? Why can I make the start bar bigger but it doesn't save? The flat design combined with lack borders makes it hard to visually process, and luckily theyve removed changing the border sizes so you can't adjust it how you want, right? Also you could already click up a directory or multiple directories. File transfer dialogue is worse because it no longer offers the "keep both files but rename" without going to the comparison details pointlessly. Old shitty problems like not being able to properly disable taskbar thumbnails (no, making the timer 99999 doesnt work properly and is very buggy) or being able to disable mouse docking while keeping hotkey docking. The native apps are so great that people just re-enable the old image viewer and download music players and video players asap.
Also love how my computer just turned itself both on and off to update. Isnt it great waking up in the middle of the night to a computer turning on? Ive completely broken updating now to stop it, Id rather get buttfucked by chineserussian hackers than deal with this shit.
John Gonzalez
Windows 10 caused me to start using Linux
Brayden Long
>Also love how my computer just turned itself both on Is that actually a thing?
Noah Richardson
>-Better multi monitor support
Nah nigga. Since I got W10, there is a sticking point on the top right of my left monitor and top left of my right monitor where there is a 5 pixel dead space that my cursor cannot pass. W7 never had this problem.
Jaxson Long
Microsoft realized they could get away with it. People rely on Windows-only software that will never get ported to other OSes.
Ryan Cook
Yes. Even from a complete shutdown. It spooped me so bad when it happened, it was the last straw for microsoft and I. If they can do that they can do anything they want with my machine. I'm pretty sure they send a packet that wakes it up.
Jacob Wilson
You can do that in 7 as well, if I remember correctly. It should be an option in the task scheduler. Though it's not until 10 that they enable something like that, and without telling you.
Brandon Long
Two main reasons. 1- incompetence. 2- nadela is really liked at M$. why? Because he doesn't force employees to use m$ products anymore. Literally everyone at m$ agrees that every m$ product is an unusable piece of garbage and so they literally develop wangblows on macbooks I kid you not.
Bentley King
Literally who cares? You're a NEET incel who faps to loli porn not the fucking president of the United States.
Elijah Reyes
this but unironically
Brody Bailey
>as mentioned in this article I hope your bosses realize you literally copied a forum reply and posted it here, and you get zero rupees for your shilling.
Ethan Ortiz
It is a below average OS yes but people use it because it comes with their new hardware, most don't realise they even have a choice.
Colton Anderson
I've figured it out. Windows 10 isn't a botnet, it is a comedy act. That's all
Nadella wants to kill windows but that would piss off their cash cow, the enterprises, so they'll instead give it a slow death and as little attention as possible.
Aiden Long
windows 10 was created for the sole purpose of data mining. that's why it sticks it's fingers into every single instance that has your personal information.
also cortana was not created to be a modern ui, it was created to channel all your searches through bing thus improving the numbers for microsoft's failing search engine.
Ayden Howard
M$ has become smug. They're the biggest tech company in the world. Their attitude is >you're gonna have to use this shitty system whether you like it or not and the sad thing is it's working, the shills and forced updates have done their job
Caleb Green
None of those features matter if the fundamental UI is a deeply confused and confusing jumble of several generations of failed Microsoft interface designs going back to the early 90s.
Which it very much is.
Hunter Hall
I'm getting an i7-8700k on my next desktop build, am I going to be forced to use Windows 10 or will Windows 7 still install just fine? I asked this same question to Microshit a while ago and they danced around the question a lot making me think I'll be okay.
Gavin Williams
You have other options, but your beaten wife syndrome clouds your vision.
Brandon Green
>shut down >update and reboot Why not “update and shutdown”? This is just dumb
Josiah Sanchez
>Beaten wife syndrome Getting a little to invested in this shit don't you think? Are you autistic?
Mason Anderson
*too
Carson Foster
what can anons tell me about that windows 10 ameliorated? seems like the good(ish) parts without the whole botnet drama, or at least the less bloated version
Daniel Jenkins
I DONT WANT YOUR SMELLY FUCKIN LINUX
HERE IS WHAT I DO TO IT PTEW PTEW PTEW
Nathaniel Thompson
Because they know they can rape you any way they want and you won't switch to a different OS.
We had all that already in Linux for years except maybe good video editing.
Christian Brown
Then you forfeit your right to complain about Microsoft by directly enabling them, you brain dead street shitter.
Noah Taylor
desu jfl at normies
William Diaz
it collects everything you do and ever has a key logger.
Justin Jackson
*two
Angel Gonzalez
use OSU10
James Fisher
assuming it works, which i don't believe
Jaxon Gray
nope, video editing became very good in linux, there are some really good professionnal tools used by "Hollywood" themselves.
Landon Martinez
Who the fuck in this day and age not have 7 gigabytes available on their hard drives?
Zachary Scott
500 rupees have been added to your Bing store credit.
Jason Bell
people using little ssd drive for perf
James Reyes
They also basically want to eventually make the thing a damn subscription service. Gotta hook them all in and then later when the time's right "hey upgrade to a subscription or stop being able to use these features that you actually use and forced to stick with shit you don't use"
Cameron Ramirez
Yeah and they'll turn it off too when you're using it, happened when I was gone for like twenty minutes And before some fag starts saying you can. Turn it off Windows 10 turns shit back on all the fucking time with no user input or notification
