Basically, the entire conflict was resolved by the original series’ end and they had to create a new one for Korra. Naturally is wasn’t as good. The ending was the most popular tumblr ”ship” from my understanding, it barely made any sense at all

Kind of but Star Wars already had a proper story/character arc and strong lore to build off of, they just failed miserably. Episodes I-III deserve a remake, but the recent Star Wars have been so bad I doubt they would be any different. Natalie Portman is the only reason to watch those abominations

Yeah but they both had the problem of being sequels to a self-contained story where all of the conflicts have already been resolved. In Episode 6 the whole point was that Vader brought balance to the force and that was supposed to be the end of Stat Wars, even George Lucas himself said so in interviews before he started discussing his own ideas for a sequel trilogy which didn't seem very interesting either so you can't really blame Disney. The only thing they could've done that wouldn't have come out bad would be to make movies in the far future or far past (like the Old Republic), not only 20 years after the OT.
I don't think the prequel trilogy was that bad, they had their cheesy moments but they still felt like a work of George Lucas's vision, not like a corporal production that was probably written by a bunch of guys in a boardroom to get the most out of the box office. I know this is a pretty popular opinion these days but Revenge of the Sith was a god-tier film imo.

In hindsight they should have developed it's throughout the whole series and sprinkle a little bit of dialogues here in there to give the audience a pretty good idea of what her preferences are. Does that make sense?

I guess, but Lord of Rings was in the same situation and did fine with the Hobbit. The prequel triology wasn’t that bad, I just thought bad acting and a shallow plot ruined it. I still liked watching the movies and enjoyed the characters they introduced however. I think the original trilogy was hard to compete with and they compromised a good plot with expensive acting and graphical effects. Episode III wasn’t as bad as the critics say, but Anakin was a bit too robotic for me

There was no magic in Hobbit. I mean something that would really enchant you while you watch like it was with lotr, Hobbit is pretty much action scenes lumped together for no reason other than to make money. Well at least those were good so can't complain.

She's okay, they could have done more with her but I'm sure Nickelodeon didn't really care about the show anymore by that point. If they make another Avatar series, they should have the next one be futuristic and Avatar not wanting to be in Avatar or doesn't realize he's one. Also they probably need to come up with a better villain and a better build up to that villain.
