/o/?

As much as the turbo boxer 4 from subaru has some problems I think the turbo 2.0 was a great engine, especially the ej205 avcs, up-cat removed of course.

Op, you are my nigga.
Your choice obviously is the best Diesel engine to be ever built.
Everytime I spot somebody talking about it I am amazed by how much acknowledgement this piece of art receives. I hope you have got a OM606 in real life, too
All the best to you

oh boy is it transgender day?

Based db605

No power though

it doesn't pertain to /o/ exclusively.
Lots of things have engines.

Nah nigga, EJ20 here, closed deck running 1.8bar. Show those Nazi drivers what for!

Have you guys heard about the new MWI spark plug? It's pretty big news if it works

I opened this thread expecting 2JZ's, 1UZ's, K20A's, and LSx's.

this desu, lets not forget the VQ's

more of a bike guy than a car guy, my favorite is (pic related) Kawasaki H2(R)'s supercharged 1.0L. if i had to pic a car engine i'd pick mazda's skyactiv series because this IS Jow Forums - Technology after all

vq is a shit boat anchor, most nissan engines are.

no aftercooler?
even the RB's?

Tesla would make a fucking vape battery

Attached: 9274cdu-960[1].jpg (807x454, 128K)

i'm not but from my understanding the VQ is just a non-turbo VR found in most nissans, no? R35 GT-R engine was beastly when it was unveiled, now it needs a refresh.. like the 370z..

Attached: 2019-01-07 13.09.46.jpg (4096x3072, 2.98M)

Nah, the VQ and VR are quite different engine families.

no, a vq is completely different, aside from being muh Z car meme engine, it primarily powers light trucks and delivery vans. Cylinder walls are thin and don't react well to boost.
VRs are hand made.

note how a vr is basically a solid chunk of alloy with holes punched through. That's what keeps it from grenading at high boost.

Attached: VQ35HR vs VR38 1small.jpg (400x266, 36K)

Engine blocks in your pic are wrong way tho, the VR38 is on the left, VQ35 on the right.

Attached: Elektrownia_JÄ…drowa_w_Springfield_0.png.jpg (525x293, 34K)

if you know anything about engines you could instantly tell that because the vr is the closed deck block

I dont know much about engines but my inline 6 is smooth as fuck and puts out a lot of power

I myself am quite partial to pumped-storage hydroelectric power plants. They produce electricity by letting water flow between two water reservoirs at unequal altitudes.

Currently they produce power during the day, and use the cheaper night-time electricity to pump water from the lower reservoir back to the upper reservoir. Although this timetable is dictated by traditional power plants' slow shut down time, in the future pumped storage could store energy produced by fleeting sources such as wind or solar during the day and discharge it at night.

You don't deserve the time it takes to find the reaction image. Just visualize a kid holding a noose and the text "Here's an option" in your head

Wankel engine.

Mercadies is shit quality. One of the worst engine manufacturers in existence.

Not even close. 3 combustion cycles per rotation. More like equivalent to a straight 6 at a fraction of the weight and displacement, while producing the same amount of power. They only stopped producing them because muh emissions. Fun AF to drive though.

Muh dicc
I cammed

What makes Skyactiv so techy?
I like Mazdas but have no idea what Skyactiv even is.

>They only stopped producing them because muh emissions.
I thought they stopped producing them because Mazda couldn't produce apex seals fast enough to keep the engines running?

Attached: ARE_Building.jpg (540x310, 32K)

They stopped making them because people couldn't shell out the cash to pay mechanics to replace the apex seals.

AMC Straight Six. A true crocodile of an engine.

Attached: 1280px-1975_AMC_Hornet_232_I6_engine.jpg (1280x960, 316K)

haha cute

as edgy as he sounds, you know he's right

Apex seals going was a result of excess carbon build up which was causing the automatic models that don't see RPMs above 5-6k to die. The MTs make it well past 100k if you take care of it. Another problem was people using synthetic oil which leaves build up from additives during combustion. Plus the fact that 99% of mechanics can't work on a rotary properly.

Mazda should have done a better job at warning people to find a certified rotary tech, and not building then with ATs.

But the official reason they stopped producing the rx8 was emissions standards that went into affect in the EU in 2011.
