Is the DataTraveler the most timeless and aestethic USB drive?
USB
no.
yes
>tfw you realize all the thumbdrives posted ITT have horrendous speeds
>speed
Nobody cares you fucking marvel kid
o yu like
how bigs that fucker ? made for macbook
5x12mm
USB memory storage devices are last decade gramps. They’re only useful for OS installations.
I've got a DTSE9 32 GB. I wish it came with some kind of dust cap for the open end.
I use this type for keeping my ebook library.
i meant storage capacity dinguss !
no shit zoomer bro ! this tech is fucking lit ! i just need a 4tb micro sd for my DAP and ill be happy.
who /cruzer/ here
>2 2.0 stick on my keyring
>1 3.0

32 64 128
Samsung Master Race
pay the extra money, for superior speed and reliability
Looks like it was designed to be inserted into the ass.
Hi guys just made a tread on /b/ about my new cool SD card.
> the eternal 16gb SD card
it was the best of times it was the blurst of times
Have been using this one for years, even went through the washer a few times.
Totally forgot I had one of these on my keychain. I wonder what's on it.
> every USB stick you have lost has had a bunch of very personal identifying documents on it and porn
using these things without a keychain was a mistake
I have one at 128gb. It's a good drive and has held up on my keychain for the most part, but the actual drive is starting to poke out of the metal frame at its opening. Hoping it doesn't get worse but honestly it's better than all alternatives for its price.
>Sandisk
>ever
enjoy the 20 minute wait to copy 4 gb of data
These are very slow and heat up a lot.
also legitimately sometimes computers just don't accept that they're boot drives.
I've got one, it lived several months in my washing machine and worked fine after that.
All my zip diskquettes are xfs with luks.
It has horrible write speeds though.
>zip disquettes
lmao
>own a multiple gigabytes per second R/W NVMe internal drive
>store mountains of data exclusively on balls-slow USB-attached SCSi drive
Why do people do this?
>using USB flash drives in 2019
Yes you are totally right OP
>256MB
It's stock photo, you can use any capacity you want.
Buying micro SD cards in bulk is cheaper than buying multiple flash drives, not to mention SD cards are more versatile and the NAND flash last longer.
Based
Have this. Lost the fucking cap.
It's now part of my ftp server as I don't want the shame to take it out of my place.
I'm using this one, that slider is very satisfying, the connector doesn't slide out/in but pops out/in instead, it's spring loaded or something. Oh and dem speeds.
So ten years down the road, I'm in the market for a new stick. Any recommendations when you're put to get something new anyway?
and most reliable
Who the FUCK thougt this was a good idea:
>USB 2 = 480mb
>USB 3.0 = 5gb
>USB 3.1 = 5gb
>USB 3.2 = 10gb
instead of:
>USB 2 = 480mb
>USB 3 = 5gb
>USB 4 = 10gb
The number is for the form factor/protocol used, not speed.
3.1 was supposed to be an revision/extension of 3.0 but they decided to fuck up the naming and renamed 3.0 to 3.1 class 1 and 3.1 to 3.1 class 2.
Cruzer titanium. Made from liquid metal. I believe ot is SLC.
Still have one in package
This one is my favorite tho mine is only 4gb.
How fast is it? Got this one few days ago, was like $2 on some sale.
It is Gen, not class.
Because there is a huge technological difference between 2 and 3, not so much between 3, 3.1 and 3.2.
Hol up, I'll get home in half an hour and run the benchmark.
There is no 3, 3.1 and 3.2, only USB 3.1 Gen 1 and USB 3.1 Gen 2.
>installs shitty Udrive software on your teacher's computer
Nothing personnel
It's funny how USB stick from 1999 looks just the same as a modern stick would look like, except for being 32MB instead of 32GB
how do you transfere software installations into your OS if its offline computer though
P R O B A B L Y N O T
>OS installations.
I don't even use it for that anymore, just pxe boot it over network.
I unironically still use the Windows DVD
PXE+serva, you'll never look back again.
I'm still on modem speed.
