Adaptive sync is finally supported

it doesn't work.
well it does work but not properly, they didn't include lower fq for "not compatible" monitors, so as expected it's gimepd
here is what I see on MG279q, my range is 35-90
weird behavior: For one when fps is say 40= frequency is 80hz.
when fps is 60- fq is 120hz
loading screens flicker, but that's minor
refresh rate changes, it sort of works, but no correctly, nvidia fucking us over as per usual.
I tested it on Metro 2033 Redux and SWTOR(yes i'm playing it for story).

Based Nvidia fucking over their loyal customers.

to add: yes I changed frequency in windows to 90hz, it works fine in windows, GPU forces monitor to above 90hz somehow to 100-110-127hz etc, if monitor OCD to be believed

what's the most annoying the tech works fine,it's not tuned at all.

RTX 2060 goes on sale today, so update your driver to support the award winning cards

Will this downgrade my 1060 like they are known to do

huh, I made swtor work, it's so much cleaner
simply alt-tabbed in full screen and back, and instead of 30hz it's fps=hz
maybe i'm setting it up wrong, is there a way to force nvidia driver to not exceed 90hz?

thread would probably die but anyway. I made it work on Asus mg279q.
1. set gsync to fullscreen and windowed
2. in manage 3d settings set refresh rate to application controlled
3. limit fps to your monitor freesync range with rivatuner
both games seem to work fps-hz, picture sure as hell is cleaner at 60fps than it was at 144hz

good shit

>doesn't support gsync on 9 series
fuck

maybe changing the freesync range from 35-90hz to 58-144hz via cru might do the trick.
or try deleting the 120hz/144hz entries, so 90hz is the maximum supported range.

Works perfectly here, confirmed it via pendulum demo (also using test pattern and toggling between nosync/gsync)

Also tried KF2, DBD,overwatch, cemu, all work smoothly without dropouts or any other problems.

GTX1070
MPG27CQ
1440, 144hz (freesynce range 48hz - 144hz, low fps compensation).
Display port

>3. limit fps to your monitor freesync range with rivatuner
I thought fastsync was supposed to do that? Try enabling it.

I also cap my fps to 144 max via riva tuner though.

cant seem to enable it on my monitor, XR382CQK, using 1080 ti

has anyone on windows 7 gotten it to work

win10 only

the state of novideo

Is there no tab for gsync or? Screenshot would be good.

yes, i havent "upgraded" my drivers in ages.

Also make sure u plugged in via display port, it doesn't work on hdmi.

used to have an amd card, freesync worked then, still using the same port

Are you on windows 7?

yeah, assuming that i have install 10 then? fuck

>win10 only
And into the trash it goes

IT JUST DOESN'T WORK STOP KVETCHING AND BUY GSYNC
t. Leatherjacketman
I wonder if I will be able to enable it on my non-freesync u2515h. It overclocked to 75 Hz easily so might as well support variable refresh rate as it's pretty recent. But the amount of tinkering must be impressive. Guess I know how to spend this evening.

Win7 support ends soon so it's time to upgrade grandpa.

You can take Windows 7/XP from my cold dead hands

Hasn't FreeSync supported HDMI for some time now?

works great on my 48-75 hz freesync. sadly couldn't expand the range by even 1hz, i've read people with the monitor I have had expanded the range down to 37-41hz :^(

freesync over HDMI is out of official spec AMD feature, though leddit says nvidia will add it too

Does freesync actually work now with GTX?

The Flickering Freesync Monitor (LG 34UC79G) Nvidia Showed on their "Non-Validated Freesync" CES booth will work fine if you restart the monitor

King Jensen finally giving his peons left over scraps!!!

I updated drivers but there is no gsync option anywhere, running win 10 ltsb 2016 and 1080 ti here

the power of open source specs, you can't even break it for your greedy jew corporation benefit!

switch freesync in monitor OCD

>still on 7
literally kill yourself nigger

GTX 1060 3GB
LG 22MK600-B
Windows 10 Enterprise LTSC 2019
Doesn't work

Actually this flickering is apparrenr in some AMD cards as well

The state of the first Gen Freesync its pretty fucking shitty

shit monitor + brainlet

Whatever

windows 10 is a clusterfuck and has been made for brainlets

Fuck off and die worthless shillfuck. Take your ugly blob of a spyware mess OS and shove it.

Windows 7 forever
>or until something better comes out.

>made for brainlets
You have to rip your ass to make Windows 10 useful, so I doubt it's made for brainlets since they just couldn't use it

>brainlet
Explain, smart-ass

>win10 only
Guess it's finally time to upgrade

Ah, time to upgrade the driver, finally a reason to do so.
I am not the guy that updates something just because to stay up to date if there aren't any problems with the old one.

How was it again to manually install the driver?
I want only the bare driver without all that Geforce experience stuff, and the related sound blablabla etc.?

>How was it again to manually install the driver?
Learn to fucking read, degenerate.

They better add it because VRR is possible on HDMI 2.0. Even if it's out of spec. It works. So add support instead of being a jew with your BFGD TVs.

Stay butthurt, faggot.

So I DDU'd the old driver and installed 417.71, I even decided to go ahead and install Geforce Experience, I just didn't install the 3D stuff, and the option for Gsync is missing in my control panel. Anyone else is encountering this issue? I have a XG2401 connected via DP to a 1060. Do I have to use an HDMI cable?

Attached: static.gif (910x658, 93K)

You will need to login with a Facebook account for Gsync to become available.

That'd be just fucking great.

Nvm, solved :)
Send me a PM if you need help.

If I upgrade to Windows 10, is there a Jow Forums approved list of things to disable?

Internet connection

So it's literally no reason to buy amd ever again?

AMD is still an option. Because NVIDIA doesn't want to let people use Freesync over HDMI 2.0.

turned it on and poof it works
I dont know what to feel tbqh,i already allotted a budget(450-500usd) to buy a gsync monitor at the end of the month after receiving wage cuckcheck
i guess im going to stick to my monitor until a oled 144hz is widely available

Attached: wow.jpg (593x321, 33K)

I wonder when they'll kill support for 600 series cards in these drivers

oled will never come to desktop
microled might but that's at least 4 years away if it does

This means the screen on the left here doesn't work with in any way with this new G-sync thingy right?

(Wasn't really surprised it was made before Freesync/G-sync was even made)

Attached: file.png (375x491, 33K)

opps gonna say, the third option is not there on that display

Attached: file.png (349x446, 25K)

planned obsolescence benefits society and if you disagree you're an uneducated retard chasing utopias that dont exist

i think so
try the nvidia gsync testing pendulum demo if you see any screen tearing

Where do I find that?

It's not really useful for me sadly, the G-sync monitor is my secondary screen (4k) while the non-compatible is my main 1080@144hz. If only I wasn't an epic gamer ;_;

I have heard Gsync affects performance. Is this still true with this?

As I predicted, Nvidia released another shitty driver and FreeSync is gimped in every monitor except the 12 or so they 'validated'. None of which are 1440p IPS.

novidia cards so shit they cant even do VESA compliant standards
LMAO

t. Seething Poolaris RX580 owner

Seeting GTX 970 actually.

it actually seems to work on my iiyama
color me surprised t.b.h.

Attached: starbucks.jpg (1080x1080, 138K)

If you're a gamer who doesn't really play adventure games and stuff like this where you want high graphics etc. Do Gsync even give me anything? I mean I play only first person shooters (CS and PUBG almost exclusively where high fps is king)

Don't upgrade if you have a 1060 and don't have a free sync monitor.

V-Sync affects performance, Freesync doesn't. Shit like this should be the standard

yea I'd never play with vsync.
But as I understand doesn't freesync cap (let's say 144) the fps to the monitors highest hz? Now I will have to compare before I say it's worse but in CS there is a difference between playing on 144fps and 300fps (where 300fps i better) even if the monitor is 144hz

My 48-75hz monitor works just fine with the new freesync driver.

Adaptive Sync does not cap the framerate
The application has to cap it itself or it won't work when going over

...

Anyone rocking any LG Ultrawide? How does it work?

I have one with HDMI freesync. There's no option to turn it on cuz NVIDIA dumb fucks.

I'm using 630M and I'm not covered
