Beige is the only acceptable case color.
le modern spaceship design
current year amirite
These are all ugly
Am I the only one that thinks this shit looks cool? Not in a hispter kinda way but in a comfy kind of way.
There are good looking old cases. The shit posted so far ITT does not look good.
Cooler Master should make a new version of this
I always liked designs like this.
They made cases that have function but are not afraid to have some design
I will forever take early 2010s case design over the glass RGB boxes of today
kino
Not bad
Yeah, this'll always be one of the golden standards for case design.
There's always cases that look shitty and good. There's still good cases. There's still shitty cases.
Would it be viable to put modern hardware into one of those, without putting oneself at the disadvantage performance-wise?
It'll probably cook itself to death.
Won't stop me from trying though. Two fans. 80mm in (choked by front panel) and 80mm out.
Hell Yeah ! Thats my fucking case. I was a rich fag in 2008 and just walked into the computer store and bought i7 920, x58 board, 6gb or tripple channel and that thermaltake case on a whim. Best purchase ever. Still going, slightly rusty, moving house ATM.

You need to heavily modify it
Modern trends I hate with cases:
>side window
>rgb
>getting blacked
Best
Black doesn't wilt or become yellowish, but I agree with the rest.
A P180 caught on fire once at a computer shop I was working at. It was hilarious and smelled so bad
this case was garbage. unibody with the handles. handle it roughly one time and the whole case needs to be replaced. fucking hard as hell to work inside of. anyone who likes this case is a fucking retard and probably sucks cock
>only one air exit
Nope.
Sharp X680000 is the best looking case ever made
Good, but could be better.
Gay.
My case has all of thisminus the rgb because I never bothered to plug it in, but every part you buy now practically has some damn rgb element to it. I digress, what I was getting at is I really like the case itself, it's sturdy, easy to work in, fit everything nicely.
Step aside.
To think there was a time when I used to think these looked good.
nice early 2000s aesthetic
Too gay.
No you're the gay.
I mean I wouldn't use a laptop like that, but I've been kind of wanting to build a PC case that looks like an old phonograph.
Looks cheap to me. Pic related is pretty good.
That I can understand.
But a "laptop" like that might as well just be a desktop.
Portability is out the window and so is practicality.
Might be cool for conventions or to show off but that's about it.
With parts readily available without much customization these days, you can just splice a custom portable desktop spec PC into a pelican case. Heck you can even custom a battery pack so huge you don't need to recharge for days. You also get gainz on your grabbing arm for lugging it around.
Pretty sure I'd still get pulled over at the airport if I tried ton take it with me on board.
MOAR!
Just slap a "Custom Panasonic Nugget Grade" sticker on it and tell them how it was custom riced.
I have an all glass case not using, thinking about selling it. Paid like $200 for it, then decided to go with a different one. Is it a major pain in ass to set up an eBay and also, how the fuck would you pack something that? Will take a pic to show..
better off on craigslist
Like they would even care, the battery itself will be considered a hazard.
Already got pulled aside twice because I had a shitty raspberry pi with me and had to explain what it is.
Really ? I assume this is an American airline thing then. 9 eleven really did a number on the airline industry i guess.
I wish a manufacturer would make some nice discreet beige boxes like these but with improved airflow and innards that aren't made of jagged sheet metal.
No, not at all. It was 50/50 shit like this and chieftec dragon knockoffs.
corsair 200r exists these days
Germany actually.
They are rather strict as well.
>cases objectively have better design, features, storage and airflow
>stamped steel and plastic was better
looks like a dragon dildo
Do you own Apple products?
Hail to the king, baby.
I wish they made dragon dildos that fat :(
>G5
A heatsink with a computer attached
God I hated the silver everything era
>no front vents
There's an inlay around the front panel(s), which vents into the case
Too bad this one has what appears to be wood grain contact paper.
Never understood the fawning over this case
These always looked fugly tbqh
>muh window
Where can I get stained glass for my case? I want some sistine chapel shit
Use painter's tape on the inside of the window to section off the colored portions you want
There's cling on stained glass for really tacky window decoration
>Powermac G5 mini
I think someone should tell him.
Just look at it. It's fucking magnificent
I would happily destroy a piece of history to install modern hw in this case just for the aesthetics. And a fake clock speed display maybe off a pi.
Glad to see these getting some love, sometimes I worry they'll be discontinued in favor of some glossy white trash.
Yeah I love how it looks, I think it can pass for a high end gaming machine, beastly server on any OS, or multimedia work horse, it just works
The best cases make your machine look like a complete pos until you whip out the 4k hentai. Sleeper cases
yes I do
*sigh*
They still do
There was a guy who used to post here who had shoehorned in a Maximus Gene 2, 2 GTX 480s, and an i7 something highly OCed into one of those cases.
I just finished doing this a couple weeks back, I plan on 3d printing a replacement panel for 3 5.25 in bay with louvres to let some air in, that and the last 5.25 inch bay slot will be the only things visible on the front, sides of top of the case that isn't original. With the latest redesign I might even be able to add a functioning floppy drive.
ultra 30 GET
pic related is coming in the mail soon
finally time to shed this 7 year old HAF-X case
Would be kino had they not slabbed their companies jew logo on the front.
The actual true king. Notice how they're not pretentious fucks and don't slab their companies jew logo on the front.
Remember when every tech youtuber and their mothers spammed builds with the Bitfenix Prodigy case?
Their flagship models don't have the jew logo on the front m8.
It's just the Define series that doesn't have a logo. that's their "silent" line, and their longest running series of cases. All their other lines have the logo now.
I really wish more companies would do minimalist gunmetal.
*blocks your path*
i have this, pretty big but a great case
I haven't looked new cases for almost 5 years until recently, why did tempered glass side panels catch on? Why the fuck are tempered glass front panels that strangle the intake fans even a thing is a greater question actually.
poor people finally saving up and getting iphones probably.
baste amd rampilled
NEW VERSION OF HAF XB WHEN
I have this. It's amazing case.
Good thing that the front sticker had a habit of pulling the logo straight off
>there is an x3
I got the x1 from a friend for 10€ because I needed an ATX tower that could fit some fans, and for that price I didn't care about looks. I fucked it up even more with 1€ stickers from Ali.
Pic related, it will sit under a desk and will be used like once a month, so who cares.
Maybe I will paint Grey without removing the stickers to fuck it even more.
>Remember when cases looked good?
They always were a shit.
