I remember that one Louis Rossman video where his USB devices and network fuck up because he bought aftermarket adapters on a Macbook Pro. He even said that he didn't buy the cheapest shit adapters he could find, but not genuine ones either.
And no, we're not whining about USB C ports. We're whining about the lack of any functional port like USB A, Ethernet or HDMI. There aren't a lot of devices around right now for which you DON'T need an adapter if you own a cuckbook.

Thunderbolt 3 can do literally anything any other port can do, and better.
Call me when you've found another port that can simultaneously drive an 8K display, transfer information to and from external drives at full speed AND charge the laptop at full speed, all through a tiny little package using one single cable.

I have a HyperDrive but I find myself rarely using it because everything I have is either wireless or USB-C/Thunderbolt 3 anyway. It's just nice to have a single dongle that can do allthethings just in the rare event where I need a converter, that's all.
