type-c bad
many ports good

Forgot to include that there is also no LAN port.

cuck

I'd be worried what would happen if the laptop fell a bit with that in.

/based/ ThinkPad.

its like a hardware dlc

This, only with USB.

That would be my idea of heaven.

>2019
>Having an optical drive

>USBC adapter to USBA/Charging port
>USBA SD card adapter
>USBC to HDMI cable

All of this for like half of price of what you linked, fucking retarded faggot.

Type C is great and very versatile, you don't need official Apple adapters to do this so you're basically whining about USBC ports at this point.

You can replace the drive with an $8 caddy for an extra hdd/ssd.

Don't copy that floppy

>sidecars
Things that should never have existed

Remember when we had ports and removable batteries?

How would Expresscard be like with hotswap 4x oder even 8x PCIE 3.0?

this is the most retarded post i've seen all day
op isn't saying type-c is bad. he's saying lack of ports is.

> 2 USB Port
> 7 USB 2.0 Port
what's the difference? surely they aren't putting usb 1.0 in a thinkpad?

based

cringe

Yes, since the photo shown is over 10 years sold now.
Thinkpads only have USB-C now too...

Also keyboards that didn't suck, and you could replace when they did?

64.0 megabits per second should be fast enough for anyone!

That's a bargain !

It is for iToddlers using their facebook machines.

>buy ports once
>never have to buy them again

>you don't need official Apple adapters
I remember that one Louis Rossman video where his USB devices and network fuck up because he bought aftermarket adapters on a Macbook Pro. He even said that he didn't buy the cheapest shit adapters he could find, but not genuine ones either.
And no, we're not whining about USB C ports. We're whining about the lack of any functional port like USB A, Ethernet or HDMI. There aren't a lot of devices around right now for which you DON'T need an adapter if you own a cuckbook.

Is it actually genius so you can have the ports you want to use? Allows for any possibility

Thunderbolt 3 can do literally anything any other port can do, and better.
Call me when you've found another port that can simultaneously drive an 8K display, transfer information to and from external drives at full speed AND charge the laptop at full speed, all through a tiny little package using one single cable.
Oh wait...

I have a HyperDrive but I find myself rarely using it because everything I have is either wireless or USB-C/Thunderbolt 3 anyway. It's just nice to have a single dongle that can do allthethings just in the rare event where I need a converter, that's all.

Saw someone with pic related at my office last week. I cringed so fucking hard

>Nothing personnel, Kid.

Well it cant shape shift leading people to have to buy dongles and adapters to fucking work at half the bandwidth. So much for that

>applel

based satania poster

what's the best laptop / tablet under 1000 with a thunderbolt?

You know what, I've had to buy just couple of cables to have all the things I need up and working with the Mac. The usb-c to micro-usb-b wasn't that expensive to buy and it works perfectly with the 2018 wacom one, for example

who's this bad boy?

The yellow USB port on. Thinkpad is the always on power USB port. It constantly has power provided to it so you can charge a phone or keep a hard drive running.

that satania shit is truly the most forced meme on this board

T480

A used MacBook Pro from 2012? PC fags can't into Thunderbolt, "USB 3.0 is fast enough for me!"
And just because something has USB-C doesn't mean it supports TB3.

20 bucks but sure

>>being forced to pay extra 80$ to own legacy ports you'll never use.
Fixed.
Especially those weak-kneed USB ports that don't supply enough current to run a hard drive.

>optical drive
dropped
might as well have a floppy drive

More than a few PC laptops with removable optical drives have caddy support for floppy drives too.

These dongles and adapters completely undermine Apple's minimalist design. Multiple USB-C ports would be a much more elegant solution. It's so fucking dumb.

Apple's minimalist design completely undermines usability.

I know but at least in theory Usb-c was supposed to solve this by replacing everything with one type of cable.
