Forums are technology. What does Jow Forums think of le reddit?
Le reddit
Pretty good, depending on how you use it.
I don't like it. The front pages are full of ameritard politics shit. The rest of the site is just an echo chamber of people sucking each other off for upvotes. Doesn't allow anonymous posting or accounts.
I really like the upvote system
The problem with reddit is
>subreddits are run by mods, in a lot of subreddits, theses mods delete anything that does not support their view, this is particularly true in subreddits that deal with politics
>subreddits that embrace free speech or have a conservative point of view, get deleted (for exampe: r/edefreiheit)
>the up- and downvoting system of reddit creates a circlejerk were "unpopular" opinions are voted out of sight – existing narratives are not challenged
Further, the community seems to be overly infantile and I don't like most of their memes and jokes.
As a side note, I think the censorship on Jow Forums also goes a bit too far.

In particular, views that lay outside the mainstream propagated by the US-American media are sometimes deleted, while I don't get the impression that this is the case for views that are in-line with these views.

Care to elaborate?
I got banned once for posting (and criticizing) a picture of the "citizen code of conduct" (CCOC) citizencodeofconduct.org
which is used as the definition of "harassment" in the Rust code of conduct.
In other words, section 4 of the CCOC defines those behaviors that will lead to exclusion from the community.
In my eyes, this is important for technology.
I agree with everything in this thread, but I gotta admit that when I'm looking for reviews or comments about something, just searching "X reviews reddit" on google usually works and is faster than digging through a million abandoned forums.
i search the pc sales subreddit idgaf
