For real though that's awful. Is that Elementary? Whatever it is looks like Windows vista

mint

That's clearly Mint you brainlet

yep until X randomly stops working the next time you boot your computer

this is mint, not arch linux

those damn widgets make it look like Windows Vista.

why are all the worst possible programs open

No, that is not Unix.

>Linux
Linux Is Not Unix

Linux is a kernel.

Multiple Linux distros are Unix, so you are just wrong.

>windows 7/vista teachers flashbacks

i've only been using ubuntu for like 1 week and a bottom taskbar looks so wrong now

Why? ubuntu has the option to put its dock at the bottom.

i want the ubuntu TM experience

IMHO the ubuntu experience is a botched Gnome3 experience, but good to see youre liking it.

Yes, and the linux kernel isn't unix. Shoot yourself autist

It just works™

>all that GREEN
The Shrek OS.

Vista best OS
mint is flatshit like 8.1 or 10

>mint is flatshit
what.

take another look at that panel, m8.
same shit as GNOAM

>the linux kernel
Yes, you figured out that Linux is a kernel, but you don't have to mention it every time. Just say Linux. And, no, it isn't Unix. But some distributions of GNU/Linux are Unix.

oh shit I was looking at my mint install
I wonder if it comes that way in the latest version

Looks like a desktop from 20 years ago

Stand down Mint brainlet.

Switched to lubuntu a couple months ago because I'm a former winfag. Here I am already using i3 with the status bar on the top. why did it feel right?

FOR THE LAST TIME. GNU IS NOT UNIX.

most of the time im already looking at the top half of my screen so it seems like less strain to me

Looks like Vista with the sidebar, but the Windows 3.1-grade icons give it away.

>mint
>unix
Also it looks bad. Stop trying to turn everything into windows

It is, the OP picture is just themed to look as retarded as possible.

Attached: mint-4.jpg (1920x1080, 540K)

Can you not? Please

Ruined it with the Mac trash.

Mint doesn't run on unix

I can not, but I choose to.

what s the best distro for a noob faggot that never touched anything except windows?
>inb4 gentoo

ubuntu

>daaaamn... unix looks like a shitty ripoff of windows vista?

you mean the shitty ripoff of KDE?

Anyone else a fan of KDE? I just started using it last week.

That's pretty nice
I wish I could forgive the fact that your selection accents and icons don't match though. Just not the same blue

oopsies woopsies i made a fucky wucky

Attached: why did you delete this.png (3359x1050, 2.05M)

explain yourself user

Attached: owo whats this.png (121x121, 7K)

I started my GNU/Linux journey with Xubuntu and the taskbar at the top. I switched from xfce to i3wm and put the taskbar at the bottom, because the screen looked overloaded with bars at the top.
>open browser
>taskbar
>title bar
>main menu bar
>bookmarks toolbar
>tabs
>actual content

This is why I have my taskbar on the side. Clutter is minimized and vertical space is kept free.

Sensible, but unfeasible on i3 because of all the text it contains.

why do you want all that text in your taskbar anyway

I like it desu

>all the fucking garbage in the taskbar

It's in the name or rather it isn't.

L i n u x
i s o n i

This looks like Windows 10 with Vista's widgets. Inconsistent as all fuck, unnecessary shit everywhere, and looks cluttered as fuck.

the font rendering makes me want to claw my eyes out

Looks like shit. It's almost as bad as windows 10.

zorin os

Linux Mint Xfce or Cinnamon.

No, it's shit, has slow updates and randomly breaks. If you want something that looks like windows then installing a theme on Mint is a far better option.

>tfw when you can't even google what GNU means

>it's shit and randomly breaks
that's why it's good for windows babbies :^)

the big problem with linux aesthetics is still there:
>flat/minimalist design
as long as this continues, people will keep perceiving linux as cheap-looking, poorly designed & visually unpleasant

>L i n u x i s o n i n t i n u x u x
What does it mean?

Everything goes for these shitty flat minimalist designs these days though

i wish the days of faenza. that was the last awesome icon theme for linux, as far as i'm concerned.

not unix

it isn't that hard to install custom themes.

Centos gnome desktop.

underrated post

>any windows theme
>on linux
ok this is epic YIKES

even on arch this doesn't happen any more often than windows BSODding
