Last thread died as I posted this:

HTPC / Plex server box. Maybe emulators. Took user's advice on fan, looking for a good fully modular psu.

Everything else good? Know a better / more fun looking Mini ITX?

Attached: Screenshot_20190116-214152_Chrome.jpg (810x2034, 499K)

You're going to have to spend a lot more on the PSU if you want it fully modular and actually good. Especially if you're wanting it to run 24/7.
Look at RMx series.

with ryzen 2200g, is cas latency really that important. i cant tell why my numbers are different than others. 3dmark.com/compare/sd/5412878/sd/5225932#
im using 2600 cl19 single channel ram oc'd to 3000
any ideas as to how to improve this?

Attached: 49844901_369578050539416_3777533735239417856_n (2).jpg (467x785, 48K)

>single channel
there's your problem

would i really make me score so much lower than that. right now im just borrowing a stick of ram from a friend, but i will be getting 2 sticks of 3200mhz cl16 ram tomorrow, so i can verify it then

>would halving the bandwidth of memory both the CPU and GPU are trying to use make the score so much lower
Yes.

You have half bandwidth at that point
So your "3000MHz" is the equivalent of 1500MHz in dual channel, except with terrible timings

ah, thanks for the explanation, cant wait to compare numbers with some nice ram tomorrow. g'night, anons

2B should always be pale

i7-8600k
RTX 2080
32GB of DDR4 at 3000
Should I get Win10 or keep with Win7?

I have a 1400
Would it be worth to get a 3600?

Attached: Screenshot_2019-01-17 Ryzen 3000 CPUs could be the most powerful ever Here's what we know.png (816x345, 43K)

Do I sell my 1080 (got it for 300 used a bit ago) and get 2060 for raytracing and better long life) or just keep said 1080?
Also have another gpu I could probably sell for 100ish and might just go for 2070 then.

Win 7 is fine
10 is headache and is making me think of switching to Linux for non gayming use.

10 is alright
I see no difference between it and 7

Are you stupid? Gay tracing is a meme at this point. Keep your 1080. Stupid zoomer. The 2060 and the 2070 aren't any better than the 1080.

Fuck off zennial.
I'd rather get a new card for profit vs old 2 yo card I got used for a great deal.
This way it would last longer overall.

Attached: 2758e8e.png (1079x945, 904K)

Probably, but if you power delivery is shitty you should also get a new motherboard since the 300 series was mostly designed around lower current per core
The 2060 is everything good about RTX, except so little of it that it won't help at all
If RTX ever catches on, it won't matter what card you have since it can't do anything

Alright then, get the 2060.

When it comes to cheap GPU manufacturers how bad is Palit? I was thinking about buying their RTX 2060.

Attached: b4d3bd454863ba326d1853c1d618.jpg (1280x669, 248K)

With NVIDIA cards you only really need to worry about the cooler, and that's annoying at the worst. It shouldn't matter unless you like water cooling

Keep your fucking 1080 till it dies

I'd grab EVGA just for the customer service, how much cheaper is the Palit compared to other oems?

I'm not into water cooling at all. I just want my GPU to have as long lifespan as possible within resonable price that is. I wonder whether or not should I pay more for EVGA, Asus ROG or Zotac or stick to Palit and be done with it. I know Gigabyte Windforce and MSI Armor have a bad rep. I don't know anything about other cheap manufacturers thou.
I live in Slavlands, EVGA would be like $80-$100 more. Is it worth the extra price?

I'd hold on to it and skip this gen. Ray tracing is too unrefined atm, by the time Ray Tracing gets good(if ever, think PhyzX) that 2060 will be too weak to run it properly. At least in the mean time the 1080 still pulls slightly ahead in performance and also has more Vram. On the 2070 note, similar to the 2060 except you can get a used 1080ti for the same price which will outperform the 2070 with the caveat being no ray tracing.

Just my 2cents

Not at all, fuck EVGA. Just get Zotac or MSI, their 2060s are the cheapest and they work great.

Prices are fucked up here. For the extra $80-$100 I would pay for a EVGA RTX 2060 I could get a cheap RTX 2070.

>shittel

Attached: 1544667387109.png (813x1402, 324K)

Where I live all the 2060s are priced evenly, it's just the ROG gaymur crap that's priced at 2070 tier. You'll be well off with any 2060, go for the cheap ones.

How do I stop my case fans from rattling? It's not too loud but it's perceptible.

Fixed it, it was the front panel rattling, not the fans. I have an old HAF case so it's all pretty rickety.

thanks for the advice user

AHHHH I NEEEEED A NEW HARDRIVE!
My 1TB harddrive is failing!
Help, 1-3TB size, what brands, specific hard drives to avoid, which ones to prioritize?
I intent to use it for storage not system. For system I will use an SSD.

Reminder that AMD is for pajeet streetshitters.

>poorfag

People meme about brands all over, all I can say is I've only had 1 WD fail after a few years of use, I had both a seagate and hitachi replace it and both failed within a month. My current WD has been alive and well for a decade. To pick new though I'd probably go seagate simply due to the combination of price/gb and sheer volume of sales with a high average rating. 1 or 2 tb is good, I wouldn't go higher than that though.

Just buy HGST or WD. 1 or 2tb ones, I think the 4tb or other ones are more prone to failing for some reason.

Would you guys buy this? I need a laptop for school and I won't be building my rig until end of year.

Classic acer screen but it's apparently one of the best budget laptops with an MX150.

Yeah, I'm seeing a lot of mixed reviews, most of them complaining about the screen lacking brightness/sharpness. It seems to have more pros than cons though.
SSD, Graphics card (don't know much about this but apparently it's a mid-range card? I only do light gaming anyway), 8th gen i5 - haven't found anything cheaper with better specs

mx150 is just a mobile gt1030
It's good enough to play older less demanding games at 1080 just fine but you won't be playing super demanding games without dropping resolution and graphics. For light games it's more than enough.
I've been hunting laptops recently too, and below the 1200-1400 price point you're sacrificing something for those specs.

uk.pcpartpicker.com/list/prFR9J
It cost about $1300 less to buy these part in US than UK... Why tho

Why. Why would you do any of that.

what about that chart with anual fail rates?

Not this fake leak again

bait

"fake"

Attached: 1445702345435.jpg (251x241, 22K)

Even AdoredTV admitted it was fake.

need help... i'm looking for a new gpu, is the rtx 2060 really better then older stuff? the gtx 1070 have better cores and clocks and stuff like that but i really don't know shit about this, so why is the 2060 better exactly? new architecture technology ?

>primary vidya/Nazi friends fx6300 isn't cutting it anymore
>check options for upgrades
>needs ddr4 plus mobo and CPU too expensive
>convince him my old 2500k would be a sizable improvement
>mail it to him for free
>decides he needs to remove the CPU to clean old paste off
>bends pins
>rip faithful 2500k 1/11 -> 1/19

Attached: 1397792413843.png (576x507, 80K)

Which Noctua fan should I get for rear exhaust?
S12, P12 or F12?

Fuck off, I don't know what chart you're on about but HGST/WD have the lowest failure rates.

Never trust a nazi

?????????????????????????
you thought his AMD board could support an Intel?

How are ADATA SSDs? I'm looking for a 2TB for my main use to upgrade from a 1TB WD Black.

Christ do you tale everything so literally?
>decides he needs to remove CPU to clean paste
does that not clearly imply that I sent the motherboard with the chip? Why the fuck else would I send anything to begin with?
you're either drunk or retarded.
I sent him my gigabyte board, 2500k, and 16gb ddr3

>clearly imply
not even remotely.

Tell me what else would you remove an already installed CPU from?
his ass?

>Fuck off, I don't know what chart you're on about but HGST/WD have the lowest failure rates.
>WD have the lowest failure rates.
Uhhh user are you retarded?

Attached: what are failure rates.jpg (1468x830, 135K)

All HDD are shit stop wasting people's time.
Tell people to buy the cheapest refurb off eBay possible, shill ssd, or fuck off.

You wrote
>decides he needs to remove the CPU to clean old paste off
I'm not gonna magically assume that line refers to the mobo/cpu/ram combo you sent him.

literal shill chart
stop falling for this garbage. WD drives don't conk more than Seagate ones do. Ask anyone

Not him, but that pic has got to be at least 4-5+ years old at this point.

>already installed
where did you wrote that? Could be your buddy removed the cpu from the packaging case to clean it off or something. Fucking nigger, learn to get your meaning across without 'implying' out the ass.

one picture clearly says 2016 drive failure
>must be 4-5+ years old
uh? Happy 2020, 2021 user?

pls respond

lololololololol

In order to remove a CPU it must first be installed. Not to mention its a given that it would need a motherboard to function.

since when do amd boards have pins to bend?

All this could be avoided if you wrote your post like this
>mail it with a gigabyte board and 16gb ddr3 for free
>friend decides he needs to remove the CPU to clean off the old paste
>bends pins
>rip faithful 2500k 1/11 -> 1/19
spin it however you like, your post doesn't give us the full picture.

Does AMD have anything coming down the line for low end ECC support? As it stands I have an Intel Haswel Pentium G3260 dual core, sitting in a SuperMicro board with 16GB if ECC ram. Both the chip and board offer full ECC support. I was looking at a Ryzen based build which supports ECC, but the motherboard selection is still up in the air with full ECC support. The PC being able to boot with ECC ram doesn't mean ECC is actually working. I don't want to buy a platform all based on a "maybe".

Is AMD Threadripper/EPYC the only choice for ECC right now?

I have an i5 7500, which CPU should I get? I play vidya and emulators a lot.

should I get a toshiba p300 3TB model for 70 euros or get
HGST travelstar z5k1 1TB model for 48 euros?

HGST, and don't buy odd number HDDs; 3tb and the like.

okay buy the HGST is 1TB, which is an odd number. So that logic does not apply to them?

Nope, it applies to >3gb and greater.

ECC RAM is placebo

whats the best budget mobo for a ryzen 2600
I dont plan to oc, so I dont need the x version right?

WD Blues are fine

The only HDD I've actually had fail on me was a Hitachi after 6 months in 2011. I've been running 2 Seagates

You should get rid of that stuttering housefire cpu

>ECC RAM is placebo
Aaaannd your opinion is irrelevant

B450M Pro4.
You'll regret going any cheaper.
>I dont plan to oc
Then you should definitely get the X. The only reason to buy the 2600 is to OC it.

Keep paying the premium for no functional gain. There's no saving the stupid...

Attached: 1532389506810.png (575x641, 13K)

>No functional gain
Do you even know what ECC is? Or what is does? Do you think I'm trying to came with ECC RAM or something?

same

>WD Blues are fine

do I have to update de bios like the 1600 mobos?

Whats this? Intel shills getting btfo again?

Attached: chrome_LhgYZHB7VC.png (252x171, 98K)

Not it supports 2000 series out of the box.

>AMD board could support an Intel?
come back after learning english, pajeet

Attached: 1413913323099.png (1000x1000, 162K)

>buy refurbished hard drives

Attached: 1547452383852.jpg (645x729, 51K)

Well shit nigger you better come to my home and smash my goddamn NAS since that shit's been running WD Blues for half a fucking decade now

what year model, and size?

your cpu is not bad for gaymen, you're not really improving all that much with what's on the market right now, unless you're really hurting on multitask performance and shit. in that case, a 7th gen i7 might be a good idea, at least you'd only replace the cpu.
if just for games a gpu upgrade would be a better investment

what's the current hip way to activate w10

installing gentoo doesn't work

buy it, Jamal.

>buy hard drives

>that faggot writes a half assed post
>comes at me for writing 'Intel' instead of 'Intel chip'
gas yourself faggot

With an old OEM 7 or 8 key you nabbed from a random PC.
