I had my Minecraft account name and password posted online a few years ago. Fortunately, I used different passwords for my important accounts, but had to go through all my old throwaway emails and change their passwords just in case. Someone was able to get into my old Origin account (I didn't buy any games there, but still fuck that Serbian faggot who got in) before I got it back.

Apparently, there was no bruteforce protection for Minecraft accounts. Not sure if they've changed it since then. Also, interestingly, after reporting a Facebook page listing all the email addresses and passwords for Minecraft accounts, Facebook did nothing about it. IIRC that page is still up today. I was, however, able to get the pastebin with the emails and passwords deleted after reporting it. Really makes you think.

So I'm wondering what's the problem with letting chrome handle all my passwords. I only need one master password that needs 2FA and other passwords are automatically generated by chrome.
The problem is if google itself gets breached but I think there's bigger chances that all my hard drives corrupt and I lose my pw db with its backups
