Correct me if I'm wrong, isn't Ubuntu just as much a 'commercial linux' as RedHat or OpenSuSE? I mean Canonical isn't a non-profit, as far as I'm aware.

Kind of. Ubuntu is publicly available whereas RedHat is only available through a subscription (or someone who copied it).

I just wish they would give you more control over the packages you install during the initial setup (or at least lists of what's included in the groups).
