Should I go ahead and buy an RTX 2060? It would be a huge improvement over my GTX 770. I'm just worried my Core i7 4790k and DDR3 ram would heavily bottleneck it.

You'll be fine provided the 4790k is overclocked. Next time ask this type of question in /sqt/ or /pcbg/

>I'm just worried my Core i7 4790k and DDR3 ram would heavily bottleneck it.

It won't. I run 1070Ti on Sandy Bridge.

Why would you ever buy an rtx 2060? If you turn rtx on it'll perform worse than your 770. Buy a 1070ti or vega56 instead. Both are about $350 or less. A used 1080 is a better buy. A used r9 290x is a better buy. A used 980ti is a better buy. All rtx cards are shit except the 2080ti.
2080 is overpriced overclocked 1080ti
2070 is overpriced overclocked 1080
2060 is overpriced overclocked 1070ti.
It's not worth$350. Know what else wpuld be a huge improvement over your 770? A rx580 8gb or 1060 6gb.

RTX ON!

Don't get AMD OP. You'll regret it.

Finewine it with AMD and don't contribute to a monopoly.
Future you will thank you.

im getting one for the anthem code and dont even feel bad. even if you dont use RTX now it will eventually get ironed out and kinda usable so you are future proofing yourself.

>AMD not mentioned once
>posts this shit

I run a 1080 on my 4770 non k and it barely bottlenecks

i'm running the same set up and i have a 2070

it's absolutely not being bottlenecked by the cpu

>future-proofing
Lol, when was the last good game you ever played using Physx?
Ray tracing is a meme and will be shelved and forgotten, too

I have never heard of that game in my life.

I've never heard about most of your asian cartoon games either.

>never mind the fact that 2060s are better than 1070s and will have longer driver support

im laffin

As a 770 owner, I'm going to wait a little while longer. I'm still not struggling with any games, and VR can wait until that too gets better.

I bought one on the day of release.
Everything has been great with it, except Kingdom Come:Deliverance which runs shit for some reason.
I upgraded from a GTX 660.

As somebody who switched from Nvidia to a Pooga, I can confirm

Problem is, I just upgraded to a 32" 1440p 144Hz monitor. I have to run it at 120Hz through DP because it's an older spec.
Also, I can't boot the computer with the monitor plugged in for some reason. A red light on the motherboard turns on. I have to plug the monitor in after booting.

It performs about as well as the 1070 Ti and the Vega 56, but both of those cost much more.

Unironically wait though user. At least to see if the possibly leaked 11xx series is real or not. You might be able to afford an 1170.

Are you me?

Are you stupid?
