All DVD had going for it was progressive scan (not interlacing) and recording VHS to DVD, then backing it up digitally.
Yeah, that's all.
All Blu-Ray had going for it was a higher bit rate.
The real problen is streaming. You can't stream 50GB dual layer Blu-Ray bit rate, without serious power draw, end of story. Bandwidth is ruining the world's resources.
