Honestly I would be quick to dismiss a hand shaped mouse. Having grown up using a 2 button mouse, suddenly having to deal with 5 buttons would be confusing. It would take months or even years to adjust to completely.

I actually think the idea has a lot of potential. Logically speaking, we are wasting a lot of time using a traditional mouse. But then again, we might need to completely rethink UI design if we go down that road.

I already have a 5 button one
The usual buttons + the wheel clicks left and right too. Can also be used left handed.

Depends on the software. Can I make macros and how complex are the keybinds it can do.

had this one for 3 days.
it doesn't roll smooth, the drivers are shit and it's made for tiny hands.
replaced it with a kensington orb.
no regrets

>cord there
Nah, mate. It doesn't work. You don't want to get yourself tangled in wires.

3d print the shape and see how comfortable it is.

also, people who use extra buttons are usually playing games or accessing extra programs, so it'd be a little awkward having your fingers on buttons you're not likely to use for long. outside of vidya at least

thumb scroll wheel.

mine rolls smooth as fuck even after a year, stop living in a grimey cesspit

this. for me, it's trackpads all the way

the dude in the Mother of All Demos was using one to type, iirc. He was also doing the kind of data formatting and editing that is still used in computing to this very day. The demonstration was made in 1968.

What else would you strangle your girlfriend with for touching your 'puter?

how about games where you need fast point and click

the fourth button is useful. the fifth? not really. i don't think i have ever bound buttons 6-8

granted the level of fine particles in the air where I previously lived was pretty high,
but compared to the kensington orb the elecom might as well doesn't roll at all.

for me the real deal breaker was the design though.
I thought huge meant it's made for non-japanese hands (aka normal sized).
boy was I wrong.

nope, because akathisia. resting my hand on the mouse without randomly clicking is hard enough with 2 buttons

enjoy carpal

no. i want 2 clicky buttons and a wheel that also acts like a button. no side buttons or anything. i'm not that retarded.

i always wondered why Razer etc release L/R versions of the orbweaver so you could have a full keyboard with extra pointer devices
