Even thou it's about a game I think this board is the one that fits more of what I'm trying to do and where I maybe can find someone to help me.
Long story short: In the new game Insurgency Sandstorm the Observer class when calling for a A10 strafe run, under suppressive fire, say: "We need the cannon! The one that makes BRRRRRRRRTTT! ", and I need this cause... "Reasons" e.e
What I did so far: - I unpacked the .PAK files with a tool called "UE4 pak-file Unpacker", that I found on this site: sessionmods.com/ - I found the sound files but they are on the extensions from the Unreal Engine 4, being them uexp and uasset. - I downloaded the HxD program to open the uexp files with this program and tried to save it on a new archive, created on HxD, putted the same code, but saving as .ogg - Than I tried to open the new .ogg file with the VLC media player, but it says that the format can't be detected.
So, Jow Forums, I cry for your help. What can I do ?
I don't think /v/ is more capable helping me on this than Jow Forums.
and I see this more as a tech "problem" than video game one.

The game has a solid Steam score and seems to sell well.
What is your overall review?
No idea about the file extraction sorry I’m just here for the battlestation threads.
Asher Young
Did you upload the pak files?
Christian Smith
I would say that depends more about how much you like realistic shooters, there is some changes like the ability to call for air support on certain modes and etc, but in it's core is quite the same as the first Insurgency and still people having some tech issues with the game. But they promised free dlc's new, maps, new weapons, skins are "free", can be only bought by in game currency that, until now, can be only earned by leveling up. I would say that is a okay, and this okay can change for good depending if you like the genre or not, game that in it's duration to become a good/great like the first Insurgency.
But the content at launch is very small, if you are not a shooter person i would say for you to wait.
Hm, I don't think the sounds are in the uasset files. They are only 1Kb, do you have any other files with similar name?
Luis Ward
Are you 12 or just retarded?

The tutorial I was following said to used the .uexp, so i stopped mining when i found them, but I can search more to see if I found more things related.
And when I used the umodel program it said the uexp files are audio but I don't know how to play it, if they really are audio files.
And they are audio of just one sentence, i don't think they would take much space.

This is all that is in that file, you can see, there is basically no sound data, only text. The other files are even more empty. Did you look at /Game/Audio/wwise/Sandstorm/VO/SecArabFemale1/Fire_Support/Play_SecArabFemale1_Fire_Support_Request_Autocannon_Strafe.7
humm On the files that were pak all the archives are like this.
But on the the folder of the game there are some compacted archives and on them there are somethings with audio on the name, like this: XAudio2_6_x64.inf
would be this the audio files? If so how do i open it ?
Nope, those are drivers of some sort. Are you sure there is not anything else in the PAK files? Did you try opening them with 7zip?
Julian Green
Yes, i tried, but it did not open.
I was only able to see what is inside the .PAK files with the unmodel or unpacking with the tell I downloaded from the link I putted on the first comment.
Well, I'm very lay on this look on the audio related files in the PAK they seem to be all the same to me.
I will try to the whole PAK file where I found those files.
William Gutierrez
it has 4,5 GB it would take 5 hours to upload e.e But when i unpack the .PAK file it generates a folder, from where i took those first archives I sent to you and makes the .PAK archive turn to a .BAK, like this: "pakchunk2-WindowsClient.pak_unpacked.BAK"

Eh idk man, guess you are on your own. If you check that screenshot, there are some other paths you can check that the uasset file references. Chances are, one of those is the file you are looking for.
Christian Wright
Oh, thanks anyway. But do you have any tips? cause looking to all those hexadecimals I have no idea to where I begin. The audio is in some part of this uasset hexadecimal? The tutorial I read the guy does that to a Dragon ball game, and he copy the hex code from something called OggS, or offspring (I think), till the end of the code and That would be the audio file, but how do I know this OggS/offspring?
Nolan Turner
uasset files are UEEditor links to the actual .wav/.ogg/whatevers. Open then up in Notepad++ and see if they have a link to the actual file inside
