Have a flat 29" LG ips it's gr8
I'd go a big bigger if I was to buy a new one tho its a little skinny vertically

I was thinking of buying the same monitor since its way cheaper than the bigger ones, is it decent? is it worth buying compared to a normal monitor?

1) Get an ultrawide.
2) One window on left, one on right
3) ???

OP here, you watch xqc? POGGERS, also greek is great too but yeah i need to buy one sounds good m8

Yeah I have one of the older ones for 6 years ago it's good for gaming but during dark game play u have to pump the brightness

Is Ultrawide really that much better? Cause that shit is WAY too expensive. Unless anyone ITT knows of a better deal for a good ultrawide besides LG?

They're just 4k panels cut in half, more like ultrashort

Gonna hijack this thread and ask:
dual monitors vs ultrawide vs single 4k?

I currently have dual monitors but thinking of moving to one monitor. Also, best window manager?

I want an ultrawide so bad I just hope YouTube and Jow Forums/reddit look good on it

They’re better if you don’t want a 65” 4K screen. Ideally an 8k cut in half would be the shit.

For what?
Looks crap fullscreen like smaller than a 27" 16:9 great for side by side tho

i have the screen in OPs pic.
Its quite good.
I use to have 2 24" 1080p screens. i thought i would miss them, however this is great.

>ultrawide
you mean ultrashort?

they're glorious. in fact super ultrawides are the way to go

What model/make?

>actually watches greekgodx
Go back to twitch faggot

If you game, it's worth every penny. Productivity wise it isn't as big of a bump as 16:10.

Depends what you buy.
The 3840x1620 34" ultrawides are far better than 16:9 1440p monitors.

I literally use a 14" ultrabook, works for me just fine.

Once you get used to it, it literally feels the same as a 4:3 monitor

Single 4K, ultrawide is a meme.
Just use kwin, or if you want to be an edgy teen, Sway.

Wonderful if you like information densely packed, unfortunately there's a reason for some Ultrawides to be cheaper than most common (and even some plain junk) screens. Stay away from the cheap ones if you need any degree of color-fidelity or contrast ratio. If you just watch any playthrough of a game with somewhat dark ambience and you'll be unable to discern anything. There's no setting to fix it, even with full-range black, messing with contrast/brightness/gamma/picture modes in the thing, you'll only be able to turn mild colors and pure darkness into eye-burning vivid colors and pure gray.

I have both 4k and ultrawide. AMA

I'm considering getting a 1440p 32:9 or 21:9 ultrawide + a secondary 16:9 display. Currently running 3x 4k 16:9.
Reason being that I want a high framerate display with fewer pixels than a single 4k display.

>ultrawide is a meme
?

zoomer tecnology

display size?

where is 4k

The surface area is too big if you go for 34in ultrawide +27in 4k, especially if you keep them both in landscape. I can barely use the screen on the right without straining my neck.
On the right, are you blind? Or are you just meming because it's not 4096*2160?

>3840x1620 34" ultrawides
This. I'll never be able to use anything else

>I can barely use the screen on the right without straining my neck.
That's a definite deal breaker for me, thanks user

until the next big thing comes out you consumerist drone

If you've got more money than sense, you could get one of those new LG nano-IPS ultrawides. 3440*1440@144hz, 99% DCI-P3 and HDR. The high refresh rate VAs are not as vibrant as IPS.

I wouldn't buy one (especially the absolutely retarded curved ones), the aspect ratio isn't universally supported and a lot of stuff is 16:9 only. It has more space, but that can always be easily acquired by simply using multiple monitors in more standard aspect ratios. I prefer the image quality which comes with the high DPI of 4K screens. Having 1 monitor in portrait orientation is also amazing for browsing, reading and working with text.

depends what you are doing.
they are good for productivity but typically bad for image editing.
gaming is hit or miss. many games don't' support it or have shitty support.
I would say they definitely are a Meme/10

you can do that on pretty much any monitor. especially higher resolution 27+ inch ones

not really, 4:3 is the shittiest aspect ratio I have owned.
owned 16:9, 16:10, 21:9, 3:2 and 4:3.

PogU

I see you haven't owned 5:4

Whats the point of an ultra wide if windows can't properly tile windows?

16:9 and wider monitors are the exclusive domain of basedboys and manchildren.

Any one running an ultrawide 1440p 144hz for racing games?

What kind of rig are you using to drive it.

>1080 vertical pixels
fuck off idiot

>windows

do you take it up teh bumbum

>Not having 2 ultrawides, one so that you can watch a full 1080p stream with full chat in theater mode and the other monitor for gaymig

xqcGoats

why buy ultrawide when you can buy 4k/5k or even 8k?

but can i get a sub 28" microled display?

>that tilt angle
Manlet confirmed

If you code or otherwise work with text a lot, get a ~40" UHD (most common panel seems to be 42.5" LG IPS @ ~104 ppi), since 2160px vertical resolution is drastically more useful and usable than 1440p. I would wait for 120 Hz models to come out throughout 2019 before getting one though.

The best gaming monitors coming out this year are 240 Hz 2560x1440 DP 1.3 displays, though only Lenovo has announced theirs so far, and it's a $1k TN (((G-)))sync model.

>literally living in a basement
kek

Considering these ultrawide monitors for good deals.

Which is the best? They're all a good deal I figured

well not the one(s) thats only 1080 tall

How is the VIOTEK GN34C ?

Can I rotate an ultrawide?

yep, 360 and back

What monitor stand are you using? I can't find any that supports the weight for mine

I can rotate my asus 21:9 90 degrees

>42" 4k
>native resolution
>endless space

Ultrashite is a meme, if you can't handle the height get two 24".

Is 4k really better

unless its 144/240 hz i don't care
