Kepler aged poorly: myth or fact?

Relative to Hawaii, yes

Relative to Hawaii, no

Relative to Hawaii, maybe

Relative to Hawaii, op is a faggot

It is because Kepler became severely memory bandwidth starved once Nvidia started pushing for higher color and texture fidelity via Gameworks.

Maxwell and Pascal's color/texture compression was able to effortlessly handle the transition while Kepler SKUs fell behind. AMD didn't suffer this because GCN had brute force behind it and was forward-thinking at the time.

Turing's RTX mode and completely reworked shading pipeline is going to do the same thing for Maxwell/Pascal SKUs with future content.

It is all part of planned obsolescence.

my 780ti was faster than my rx580 in some dx11 games.

Wait how? The 580 performs like a 290x and that has pretty much always been faster.

dx11 nvidia driver is better than AMD's. GTA 5 and Grom dawn saw 15-20 fps more than the rx580. Both OC'd. but in games like bf1/far cry 5, the rx580 is better.

>myth or fact?
>nGreedia gimping it's old GayPoos with new drivers
Jow Forumsee, I wonder

Kepler cards compete with my 7970 card but the 2GB frame buffer kills them.

In some ways yes, in other ways no.
Kepler is shit for gaming now because no vram, but in some compute/deep learning tasks a 780 Ti is as good as a 1080.

That's just async compute. Same shit happened in DOOM and Wolfenstein 2

>being snarky about Nvidia's planned obsolescence when the 680 is outdated trash and a 7970 is still a recommended specification on some modern games.

290/290x/390/390x are what the rx570-rx 580 are today with the only down being power hungry,I dont think I can say the same for a the good old gtx 770 or 780.

Relative to Hawaii and Kentucky yup

what about the gtx 780 ti?

You actually think those Kekpler cards are comparable performance wise?

where the 390x?

Oh and here's your perf per watt

above the 780 Ti

this
based but bluepilled

its doin ok
could be better
680 = 1050ti, though mines only the 2gb variant
