Long shot:
- the left small aperture is the window of an IR laser
- the right larger aperture is a lens for an IR detector.

Together it uses a window pane to listen in on the conversations in the room inside the window.

Dump your cheese here quick

Wouldn't that be interfered by the vehicle window though

show the rest of the van

Depends on window material.

Shine a 1W laser into it.

a minute from a normal laser pointer would probably be enough to wreck that thing

how does IR electromagnetic radiation help you listen to acoustic sound waves_

terry got a new van!

OI M8 YOU GOT A LOISENCE FER TAKING PICTURES OF THE VAN USED TO DETECT YOU TAKIN' PICTURES?

The IR beam isn't visible by humans, and the glass will flex in response to sound, you use the warble in the reflected IR beam to capture the sound wave that disturbed the glass.

must be standing there for quite some time user

this sounds like total horseshit

14 seconds faster than me :(

they are UHD cinema projectors

It isn't though. Learn some physics and the mechanics of how it operates is pretty obvious.

how the fuck do they get any precision from that?
also wouldnt just covering your windows with curtains completely fuck it? or turn on a fucking fan?

Movements of the window will induce a phase difference in the reflected beam which can be compared with the outgoing beam as a phase reference. This is well established technology used in high precision positioning and can be used with micro meter precision.

The US used this to spy on Japanese trade delegations years and years ago.

Good find. I did a Google search but came up blank. Google is getting worse and worse.

you absolute retard.

IR is picked up by cameras and the picture would show it. Fucking hell, this is the technology board you imbecile

>the device can never be switched off
lol
not all infra-red spectrum is visible to digital cameras and what frequencies are depends on the sensor filters.

Brainlet

Wrong. The only mystery here is why are on a technology board.

How do you suppose vinyl disks can have any precision?
How come the wind doesn't completely fuck your hearing? How is it possible to hear things through a sheet of fabric?

The same tech was used to track down Osama Bin Laden.

>The US government, the last bastion of free speech and civil rights, spying on anyone
The soros shills are out in full force today, uh?

Here's a laser microphone you can buy retail
