I have been using it for over 15 years, in French and English for the past 3. Gramarly is toddler-grade compared to it. There's no way it can even compete.

Antidote is a traditional desktop and offline software and work on windows, Mac OS and Linux (yes, with libre office, Firefox and possibly others). You have to pay for it but you actually get something worth paying for.

I'm not sure what a simple word is supposed to be. If you're discussing a technical subject, technical language should be used. Regardless, I agree that thesauruses are abused too often.

If you are a half-competent writer who knows his grammar, I don't think Grammarly can help you that much, and it's pretty expensive for what it does. The most interesting thing about Grammarly is that, as far as I can determine, it is a basically 1960s AI rule-based system written in Common Lisp made in a country that doesn't speak English.
