I don't think anyone is using Solaris anymore. I still have to test my programs on that POS.

Want to go to Arch or Gentoo next.
Win98 -> Win2000 -> WinXP -> Vista -> 7 -> 8.1 -> Ubuntu -> Mint -> Debian
I've also used Ubuntu Server, Kali, and Tails for case use situations. Gonna try Arch at some point. I like Debian.
Win98 -> WinXP -> Win7 -> Debian (shit) -> Win10 -> Win7 -> Kubuntu (better but still shit) -> Win10 -> Kubuntu (second attempt, still shit) -> Win10 -> Gentoo i3 (claim to ditch Windows entirely at this point) -> Gentoo KDE+i3 -> Gentoo KDE (ditch standalone WMs here) -> Fedora -> custom distro (has not taken place yet, but likely the next step)

Ubuntu went straight to shit past 12.04, fight me.
12.04 is the XP of ubuntu.
well that was pre-unity with a gnome 2.0 desktop. So hard agree.
12.04 was the first lts to ship with unity and I don't think it even included gnome by default. I liked unity. Why does it get shit on all the time
Dynamic title/panel bars, now that's efficiency *sip*
OP said evolution, not devolution.
You're late, winjeet.
Unity was a shit mess though.
WinXP->Win7->Win8.1->Win10->Ubuntu->Slackware->Void and FreeBSD
off by one LTS.
I never was a big unity fan. I always tried it out when a new LTS would come out, and just end up switching back to a different wm in a few days.
I'm not going to autisticly REE at it, because it's aimed at being a middle of the road with enough eye candy to not look dated. It's not meant for me.

Win 95 - Win 98 - Win XP - Win Vista - Win 7 - Mac OSX (Win 7 dual boot for gaymen) - Win 10 - Ubuntu - Manjaro
It's true though. Why would anyone switch to wangblows from macos? Other than the same reason people switch from linux to windows, muh gayums.
Windows 8 and onwards is a steaming pile of garbage. Its default behaviour is to install random botnet games and show adverts to you. What the fuck.

Commodore Amiga -> WinXP -> Win7 -> Mint -> Ubuntu -> Debian -> Gentoo -> Debian -> Ubuntu -> Win10
Win 3.1 -> Win 98 -> Win XP -> Win Vista -> Ubuntu -> Win 8 and Win RT -> Win 10, Debian and CentOS
Win95 -> WinME -> WinXP -> #! -> Ubuntu -> Lubuntu -> now considering my options for my decade old Chinkpad
.... now considering MacOS as I devolved into someone that doesn't care, doesn't want my life to be a pain in the arse, and have been away from Windows so long that I perceive it to be a total garbage fire.
Win 3.1 -> 95 -> 98 -> 2000 -> XP -> knoppix -> ubuntu -> Vista -> ubuntu -> 7 -> ubuntu -> debian -> openSUSE -> Fedora -> ubuntu -> 7 -> ubuntu -> arch -> ubuntu.
I don't know why I never bothered with Mac or BSD. I went through a lot of switches and for a while, I jumped distro once every other month. I used windows for school and Linux when I wanted to play. Arch was probably the thing that stopped me from jumping between distros. I really liked using it, but ubuntu is more suitable for the work I currently do.
we need an uwubuntu
