What resolution monitor were you using by year Jow Forums?

Me:
1996 - 2012: 1280 x 1024
2012 - 2013: 1920 x 1200
2013 - Present: 5760 x 1200

I've been using a 4k monitor at work and I think it's overrated. It's only good for viewing high res photos and videos. Otherwise it's kinda pointless which is why 1440p seem so popular. At what point will we leap to 4k and 8k? Websites are taking forever with compatibility and there doesn't seem to be a real push for it.

2014-2018 (pre-/tpg/): 3440x1440
2019 (x230): 1366x768

Went from a crappy Dell setup to a Powermac G5 (I replaced it with a 2006 Mac Pro in 2009) with a cinema display to a Thinkpad T420.

I know I had 1080p shit early due to my father's obsession with it. So I'll just list my shit from when I started buying for myself.

2007-2018: The same 3 1080p monitors
2019: Those 3 monitors + 1 3840x2160 monitor

2000 - 2006ish, a compaq crt that went bad, think it was up to 1280 horizontal
2006-2008, another crt i got for free
2008 - , my current 1080p benq 21,5 inch display and I guess I'd really need an update

1997 - > 800x600
2007 -> 1024x768
2012-present -> 1920x1080

Might be a bit off on the years because at the time I didn't expect to have to recite it someday, but here goes.

1995-2000: 800x600
2000-2005: 1024x768
2005-2008: 1280x1024

i didn't realize until now i've had my current monitors for 8 years

1998-2007 - 1024x768
2007 -2009 - 1680×1050
2009 - 2010 - 1920×1200
2010 - 2013 - 2560x1440
2013 - 2016 - 2560x1600 tried ultra wide 1440p but losing that 160 pixels line was unacceptable.
2017- now - 3840x1600 this is the resolution of the gods

Only way to improve 21:10 is making a 32:10 screen

I'll only list the highest I had at the time, even if I had several. Also won't count newer lower res monitor or multi monitor setups. Otherwise it would be a rather long list.

1987 - 640x512
1993/4 - 1280x1024
1999 - 1600x1200
2002 - 2560x1920
2006/7 - 3840x2400

I'm currently using two 3840x2160 for work and 3840x1600 for games, neither which are higher res (alone) than the IBM I already had 10 years ago.
I do have a 5120x2160 TV though.

I've used 1080p until like two days ago. 4K but only because the TV would have cost just about the same at 1080. Really, just glad it's bigger than the last one. 1060 struggles a bit with it, mostly keep it to 1440p. I'm basic as fuck, but I honestly spend more time on YouTube now than gaymen.

early TVs and stuff until 2000, then suddely 1024x768, then straight up to 1440x786 until 2009 and then 1920x1080 for one year and then two monitors 1920x1080. somewhere midway 2014 a third monitor 1024x768 because it cost me ten euros, but now back to two monitors.

2005-2008: 1280x1024 (CRT @ 60hz)
2008-2012: 1024x768 (same CRT @ 85hz for reduced eyestrain)
2012-: 1440x900 (LCD @ 60hz)

199X 800x600
