enjoy consuming 6GB of memory while doing nothing

you're thinking of gtk. QT is light. KDE literally uses less RAM than XFCE now.
Jace Stewart
wow you are one stupid motherfucker
Sebastian Parker
>QT is light
Mason Murphy
I use it on my desktop with openbox as the wm. It works.
Brandon Hughes
You're full of shit.
Justin Bennett
hear me out, when everyone still hate gnome and gnome(s) and kde is dying this will be the only decent DE in the future, lxde & xfce is deprecated as gtk2 is ending unless someone invent a new DE that usable and stable
Anthony Mitchell
gtk5 is about to get released this year
Mason Wilson
Nigga xfce uses gtk3 and the development is running perfectly fine.
Jackson Wilson
Use mate desktop
Juan Russell
I hope they fix theming in gtk26
Angel Butler
Attempts to be lightweight, but actually is bloated because Qt.
Xfce is gtk3 already
Daniel Phillips
>fedora
Asher Jenkins
Qt is not bloated, it uses less RAM than most DEs.
Nathan Ortiz
>Qt is not bloated
t. increasingly nervous Qt certified developer
Anthony Brooks
Not nervous, just wondering what proof you have Qt is bloated. Runs better than the competition, easy to develop with, and above all - pleasant to the eye. It's just fine.
Evan Clark
Qt is a bloated mess of redundancy and obsolescence, any senior c++ dev can tell you the same.
Jeremiah Cook
I *am* a senior c++ dev and think it's fine. What's your counter-argument?
Hunter Barnes
t. shitlord
Christopher Watson
meh, but may have potential if they get a wayland wm
Mason Harris
it sucks
like the defaults are so shit I'd rather make my own de
Daniel Barnes
Great comeback, I think I'll delete my entire github.
Qt isn't bloated, your PC is too weak to run it.
Ian Hughes
you don't know what you're talking about
don't listen to this sperg
Charles Lewis
reminder that enlightenment already works on wayland
Benjamin Barnes
Qt doesn't even have thumbnails in the file chooser
Carson Harris
I like it. Much better than GTK3 shit based DEs.
Lincoln Wilson
>wayland
Call me when that shit works with proper hardware
Michael Reed
what a retard, it has always worked on radeon
Joshua Lee
>Qt isn't bloated, your PC is too weak to run it.
This, LXQt runs fine even on a 2012 Atom and 2GB RAM, 69588272's PC is officially a toaster microcontroller
Julian Stewart
>proper hardware
>radeon
Pick 1
Juan Bennett
>it can't pway muh gayme so it must be computationally inferior

xfce runs fine on 2002 hp
Jordan Harris
theming was never broken, they simply never supported theming in 3.x
that's right, themes kept breaking not because gnome fucked up, but because it was never implemented in the first place, adwaita is /the/ theme, not /a/ theme
Levi Allen
lighter than gtk, which is why LXQt exists in the first place
Jacob Rivera
c++17 made Qt obsolete
Hunter Morris
Adwaita is fucking horrid.
Grayson Cox
Unironically gnome is superior
Anthony Phillips
>footfags belive gtk is right for not supporting themes and breaking existing ones on purpose
Wyatt Thomas
> Qt
> better than gnome, unironically shittier than everything else (speed, ram-consumption and overall experience wise)
just use either fluxbox/i3 or lxde/xfce. can't go wrong with those.
Tyler Anderson
2003 dell latitude user here. Unfortunately for you idiots they both run the same. (if you disable all the effects on xfce).
Things have gotten in fact so bad you NEED a WM to use this thing.
Nicholas Clark
fyi, i'm not a gnome3 user, never have been
i loved gnome2 though, and one of the reasons was due to how customizable it was, with lots of really nice themes to choose from
Daniel Mitchell
>lighter than gtk
what does that even mean
wtf are you talking about
turn off your exa vsync and use xfwm413
Jaxson Reyes
what theme isn't? adwaita is ok for firefox but otherwise arc is the best
what else is there?
Ryan Fisher
>wtf are you talking about turn off your exa vsync and use xfwm413
You dont understand you have turn off the compositor. And you cant use a gui because fucking nearly all good gtk applications have been gnomified.
Benjamin Hall
nou don't understand
everything's the same and you don't have to turn off the compositor if you used the one i told you
Justin Smith
probably my favourite theme is Crux, but i don't know of anything like it for gtk3
Carter Ortiz
someone posted this yesterday
github.com
tried leopard and maverik - can't say i like them better than arc
Ryder Powell
>unless someone invent a new DE that usable and stable
Wyatt Martinez
let us know when it's actually updated
oh wait ikey went awol so no one gives a shit about it anymore
Luke Ward
actually to build on that try something for me, pin at least 20 programs, and watch as the bar extends past your screen space
isnt that neat
