Last summer I bought an ultra cheap portable compressor (with built in battery) but after like a day or so I got an email from eBay that the seller's account was """hacked""" and the listing was fake and I got my money back immediately.
I would order that ebook reader, the real question is how long the battery lasts, if it's really a display model, it might be shit.

When you change page it resets zoom
Zoom is a bar you have to open then drag to select how zoomed
You get a little window showing where you are on the pdf page (good)
Can pan around a little bit semi-smoothly without refreshing the whole screen (good)
The PDF use case I would have would be dnd / w40k rulebooks and I think it would be quite frustrating to use for those- would rather use tablet/laptop/phone. Would be fine if it was just showing 1 page the whole time (stats or something).

Yeah don't bother with the more expensive USB-serial boards. Its pretty hard to fuck up a single FTDI chip (theres a good chance its a knockoff chip regardless of price, but they still work fine). Just order 2 or 3 $1 ones.
