You wouldn't be some tech enthusiast right user?... Right?
You wouldn't be some tech enthusiast right user?... Right?
>WAAAAH THE GUBBEMENT IS SPYING ON ME
>THEY SPY ON US GUISEE!!!
>.25 US Dollars have been deposited into your account
I fucking cringe every time a dev at work starts talking about his Alexa and his domotic control over all the facets of his home.
Well, yeah, you pretty much summed it up
I know, its so fucking annoying
this
>tech enthusiast
more like murifats gobbling up every new technology that come out
>this
If you work in IT you should know not to trust technology with important stuff. Especially digital technology.
Dude I can control my toaster from the living room lmao
Lmoa*
The worst part is receiving this shit from work as xmas drawing instead of money. I would rather have a gift card than a Google home.
Domotica is cool. You can have light dimmers, automatic shutters, an automatic thermostat with an outside weatherstation, and none of that needs to be integrated with a smartphone at all.
It's neat and futuristic, but still way too expensive for normal homeowners considering the potential savings. Makes way more sense for office buildings and palaces in Dubai.
But dude if you say those keywords Google will restock your fridge without you even noticing (and sell your grocery list to third parties)
Companies want all this IoT shit but then they never keep it up to date. Instead they make a new IoT device to sell, which also never sees an update.
People with smart TVs only a couple years old are never getting another update because the company that sold them has abandoned all development for it.
IoT is insanity.
The "smart" shit would be 100% dope without all the spying.
How would they sell newer tvs to retards if the old ones got updated
You idiot oh no Google is selling your toast data! Don't you know how precious the data of how often you eat toasted bread and how hot you want it is?
What do you mean literally everything you use these things for is useless information to you and wouldn't even be useful to a burglar?
It starts with the toaster and it ends in your mother.
You can build pretty much every single "smart" thing on the market yourself, thus spying not included.
The only excepting I can think of is an encompassing watch that has the feature set of the latest Apple watch.
My home has a considerate amount of technology that automates a bunch of things, yet none of the traffic leaves my intranet.
IoT is retarded concept. LoT is better, lan of things connected via ethernet physically separated from the internet.
I wish I cared about being spied on as much as I should
