Jow Forums pill me on alpine linux
is it a meme or actually good?
Alpine linux
lack of developers is killing it
what’s a good distro to use for a VM? I want something small and light and secure.
Ubuntu Minimal
GNU/Linux*
SparkyLinux with Lumina Desktop
Project Trident
It's good if you're a docker container or if your name is a random sequence of digits and upper case letters, otherwise, by the time you have a functional os, you have rebuilt debian from scratch (without apt/dpkg). How the fuck can we say if it's good for you if we don't know your use case?
it's useless beyond building docker images
>alpine uses apk(which is what android apps use too)
Post other redpills
It is actually good, but it's not really a desktop distro like most of Jow Forums would run it.
Most of the user base of Alpine uses it for containerized VMs.
Alpine is a very decent choice.
I'm currently using devuan netinstall with LXDE. I've never liked Ubuntu because they only officially support software in their main repo, not the community and other ones.
>based on Debian
>based on
lel I never use random spinoffs maintained by one or two guys.
This is actually pretty interesting, but it's a flavor based on a flavor based on FreeBSD. And FreeBSD has horrible security, even worse than GNU/Linux.
I guess I'll try alpine out. I just need a VM for doing banking and shopping. I don't want that stuff on my host install.
Seems like a decent distro, I wish it had better architecture support.
.zip files are compressed by representing the 1s and 0s as two lists then running zipWith ++ to create a zipped version of the folder
Fedora was given it's name because the creator was an atheist
Pee is stored in the balls and if you flush her out with pee after sex she won't get pregnant (ancient Chinese secret)
A
I'm running it on my raspberry pi3b+. It's extremely lightweight

Sure, why not.
If it doesn't work out, an alternative there would be to simply use firejail, or another sandbox (for example nix-shell –pure -p chromium or the same kind of thing with flatpack and bubblewrap).
Have you ever ran alpine as a desktop distro? Their packages seem up-to-date and they have a lot of sponsors so they don't seem likely to disappear anytime soon.
Alpine doesn't use GNU. It uses musl/busybox
What compiler is used to compile everything?
Do you call Firefox, GNU/Firefox because it was compiled with GCC?
doesnt neofirefox use rust for some key parts of it? it should be sorted properly, rock/x86/gnu/rust/furfag/firefox
Install Alpine Linux and see if it's worth your time and effort to make it useful. That's how I got redpilled on Alpine Linux.
Eat shit.
>GNU gets credit because GCC was used
No. Quit being such an insufferable cunt.
The guy who raped me is now a sydadmin and he has a bunch of cp of me so like, I guess it's good for pedos?
hobbyist distro
not desktop distro
not for daily office/work use
>hobbyist distro
This distro is running tons of the web through docker containers. It's very hot right now.
It's awesome if you like to build everything in your container against musl or run nothing but ls in said container.
Firefox is compiled with clang retard
meme
they switched back to openssl from libressl last update
No Linux distro at all is for daily office/work use. Every single office in this world uses almost exclusively Windows workstations, user.
