My boot drive is on SSD, and my data drives are on HDD.
I have masses of data on both, and tbqh I don't notice much difference browsing between even with thousands and of video and photo thumbnails. And this is even on the slower HDD partition.

Yeah sure. As someone with fast HDDs and also SSDs, scrolling through a folder with thousands of videos and/or pictures, thumbnail generation is night and day. Only reason to even use a SSD outside of a system drive if you ask me, unless you actually need swap/cache for work.

the rest is all media on my 24tb network storage
i program and i archive/consume non-interactive media
