how do we revive the torrent/pirate community?
seems to be thinning out

I have been trying for weeks now to get my hands on Halo Online, but always tracker down on every torrent.

Give it back, Tyrone.

We have been moving to private torrents

you don't
make free (libre) software instead of spending time trying to violate people's copyrights on shitty movies and nonfree games

Copyrights are an imaginary construct

based

true but the people who own them are not

Nice one. I've been hearing this for almost 20 years now.

Might as well ask me not to pirate because it hurts their feelings

Many of us moved to Telegram channels.

Personally, I've stopped torrenting games and movies. I don't spend much time playing games anymore, and the couple games a year I care about I can just buy. I also really don't care about modern movies. As long as the anime pirating community stays strong, I'll be fine.

it's not about their feelings, it's about respect

so it is about their feelings

no, you don't have to care about someone's feelings to respect them

search harder

maybe the borg have, us normal people have better shit to do than stare at seed/leech ratios and sweating.

basepilled. red.

90% of the content I pirate don't come from channels that'd support my freedom if I had bought it legally. Piracy guarantees longevity in the face of copyright mismanagements. Look at stuff like Alan Wake or the Scott Pilgrim game on PS3/Xbox.

it's been a long time since I've actually wanted to download a movie, it's not like they've made anything worthwhile in years

>copyrights
that's a set of laws it's immoral to follow. if it was 5 or even 10 years then that would be fine, allowing something a monopoly on some movie file a short time is acceptable. saying you can't copy a 80 year old book isn't. it's your moral obligation to break copyright laws as frequently as possible

Hint: look for Russian torrent sites. It's more difficult because everything is in cyrillic, but they're still keeping the pirating spirit alive.

to be honest I'm kind of confused where to get decent game torrents if there is any if anyone would kindly point me in the right direction.

>torrent/pirate

I hope you don't mean to say that BitTorrent is synonymous with piracy. We've already seen instances of ISPs and other organizations trying to block torrent activity entirely (including legal torrents) because of the association.

i don't know what either of those are and i don't care because they are probably nonfree software. it's not your job to guarantee longevity of someone else's copyrighted material, especially if they actively fight you in doing so

It's not my job but I'll do it anyway because I care more about that material than the fuckers who made it.

Everyone uses dc++ again.

Are you mentally retarded or just a fucking idiot?

it's fine outside of a couple lost DVD rips

Russian torrent trackers. Based Russkies don't care about Americanski coprwrongs.

>Halo Online,
just get it from the microsoft store
this
this
based

not him but i know you cant get the scott pilgrim game anymore due to some meme conflict of interest. bottom line is it can't be acquired anymore.

normies moved from illegal torrenting to legal streaming, shucks who would of thought people would stop stealing shit when an hours worth of songs stopped costing $30

if anything happens to rutracker i will kill myself also it got pozzed in australia the other day... people have no idea how bad things are here.. we have torrent sites blocked at the ISP level !

Attached: Optus_blocking_TPB.jpg (1024x527, 72K)

>not using piratebay proxie list

2019 is the year of the Usenet revival

It's because stealing is gay. We only did it because there was either no cheaper alternative for some things or in some cases it was the easiest way to acquire music or games or movies or whatever. Now it's no longer the most convenient so nobody gives a shit about it any more.

Is Vodo.net banned there too?

Even thepiratebay.onion doesn't work?

>I have been trying for weeks now to get my hands on Halo Online, but always tracker down on every torrent.
There's a thread for it on /t/, dumbass

>if it was 5 or even 10 years that would be fine

certain someone didn't like that.

If rutracker die you have rutor

I use a site called "rarbg." I download mostly TV shows, movies, and games. I just use w/e tracker works ATM before its shutdown then move on. This "rarbg" works fine for now. Tho I once ran it without a VPN for less than a day and got 5 DMCA notices. I used private trackers years ago, maybe 10 years ago, and stopped because I would have to seed like hundreds of torrents to maintain my ratio. Now I just use public trackers and seed to 2.0 ratio.

i used rarbg for years now without vpn and never got a single notice
i only use it for tv shows and movies
one thing that saddens me is that i have to block their ads, i want to support them but those fuckers use those invisible full screen ads that bait you into clicking and then open a new window with an ad which is too annoying to deal with

i was considering using netflix laterly since it is so cheap, can you watch movies like from marvel and tv shows (lik arrow etc) as soon as they release there?

Honestly I just only use fit"girl".

>MUH PRIVACY
Nobody mentioned anything on that subject in this thread, so fuck off already.

The pirate community is alive and well, we simply got sick of leechers so the community isn't public anymore.

rarbg is nice, but there's never any torrents for older TV shows. I use 1337 for those, but the quality is less (bad video quality, missing eps, out of sync stuff etc happens way more often there).
I miss KAT.

Any australian who is smart enough to post here has probably never seen a blocked site.
Its DNS based, and Australian ISPs have some of the worst default DNS servers.

Still depends on rights holders, some are cool and some are shit.
If its not on netflix id pirate it out of sheer spite of the company not making it accessible.

the honor amongst thieves attitude for piracy makes absolutely no sense
you're getting shit for free you're supposed to pay for then you complain about other people being leeches

AV1 will save us.

>It's not my job but I'll do it anyway because I care more about that material than the fuckers who made it.

how retarded are you? they put years of effort making what you enjoy, and yet you hate them but love their product. what niggery is this?

>order dinner at a restaurant
>food is delicious
>tell the chef he's a fucker and leave without paying

how many maga hats do you have, edgelord

a huge part of the problem with declining piracy, is the lack of things worth pirating. pretty much all new movies, games, software, comics, etc etc, sucks. i've yet to encounter a recent form of media that's worth having a physical/digital copy of

why do u h8 privacy? its a legitimate concern with very real consequences.

Torrenting is dying out for 4 obvious reasons that i can see, one is convenience, its just easier to stream something for a couple cents then to search for, download and store it, the second it because we dont introduce ppl to it anymore, we kinda stopped telling our friends were and how to find and download it, the third is that ISP crack down on it, and the fourth is because of malware infested sites ruining ppls first experience, i think if told more people about it, and told them in such a way that realize how much money they can actually save then more ppl would come around to it, i also think we need a better software for it, something that can activly do anti-virus scans and techniques that do not have false flags, something like run.me does, and it needs to mask seeders IP using built in proxy scrapers, that would slow the download for sure but the increase in seeders would still make it viable.

>Reddit spacing
>food analogy
Woo boy
It's more like
>Buy food from restaurant
>Staff tells me I'm eating it wrong
>halfway through the server takes my food without explanation
>on the few chances they don't take it I ask for a box for the leftovers
>lol no
I'm not some boot licking faggot who respects corporations merely because they grant me permission to use stuff I bought with my own money.
>maga hats
Zero, you fucking queer

> we kinda stopped telling our friends were and how to find and download it
> let's torrent it
> it'd rather stream it
> why, it's filled with ads and is low-res
> good enough for me
What should I do, tie them up?

I have a magnet link for it that works, got it from /t/ lol

There's nothing wrong with companies letting old media fall on to hiatus
If a 20 year old game is put on hiatus by the company, and not put up for sale, you have no right to Downoad it since the IP still represents potential income and assets
Pirating older media steals from potential future sales of rereleases, and sequels, and hurts the companies who made that IP's revenue. Companies should sue retards who pirate media like this, since it hurts the gaming industry, the people who made the game, and even stores who may sell copies in the future

public torrents are much easier to seed
Have:
1.20 GB (100%)
Availability:
100%
Uploaded:
286.6 GB (Ratio: 236)

>yea but i don't get good boy points for doing it!

I love living in a shithole country like México. Nobody cares about torrents and wont care at least for the next 20 years, this is a paradise where you can download the whole James bond movies and 100+ gb of questionable JAVs and if you get hungry you go outside, dodge the typical night gunfights and get some tacos, just like the wild wild West brothers.

>rutracker
Based and ruspilled

then let it die, the video game industry is notorious for poor management of their copyright portfolios, show the cunts that their shitty behavior results in dead games and lost sales

you have it exactly backwards, laws that exist solely to preserve imaginary "future sales" are protectionist and harmful to any industry

to put this in perspective, imagine you bought a truckload of bananas that you wanted to sell, and the price of bananas suddenly dropped and you had to shelter a loss, that sucks but you have to deal with it as no one is going to buy at the higher price

never really used sites like piratebay or whatever you fags are nostalgic about
i started with eMule then moved on to UTorrent and trustworthy private trackers from my country or rutracker, occasionally Slsk too
the public sites were always cringeworthy idk why you'd want them back

>friend sends invite to private tracker
>fuck yeah.avi
>pirate for days
>year later, was banned from tracker because not seeding
>pay 5 bucks
>vip for half a month. No seeding required. Unbanned.
Ez

Not playing games is free AND legal

What about DDL sites?

Literally untrue

change your DNS server you retard

>ipt
