He wrote it, he was a good analyst but I don't think he ever really understood what all these mean. Also what is ancient greek and eastern philosophy, he paraphrased a truth that already existed, he didn't even renew it. various monochrome schemes exist, e.g. the ones that go from a dark gray to white between 0 and 15, but despite being nice on paper, it kinda sucks ass in practice. usually in the sense of shit contrast or overly similar shades, i suppose.
