>turn off Windows' ability to enter sleep mode in the power options menu >leave PC idling on desktop with monitors off overnight >come back to the CPU fan not running, the motherboard fan at full blast, and no picture to the monitors after turning them on >have to reset by holding the power button
This has happened about a dozen times in the past 6 months. What the fuck did those pajeets at Microsoft do to my PC?

its bad enough in a VM since windows doesnt know how to fucking reset a pci device. >shuts down windows >unbind vfio-pci >manually reset the pci device >rebind vfio-pci literally every fucking time.
Jordan Murphy
Any pre-10 Windows doesn't have this problem. >but muh up to date MS fired their testers division, by installing any updates you become the tester. You were warned multiple times over the last 3 years, you didn't listen and have only yourself to blame. Windows is for legacy software only, there's no reason to keep it newer than that software.
All of the games that I play, but none that you play.
Samuel Carter
Correct, I don't play shitty games.

>press sleep button on ubuntu >instant lock screen >after ~10s screen turns off >afer another ~10s pc goes to sleep >wake from sleep >no video What did the pajeets at Canonical Corp meant by this? >I don't like any games so they all bad Your opinion is irrelevant autismo.
Jeremiah Carter

Shit I didn't even know about hybrid sleep. Went ahead and disabled that too. PC is a 1950X being cooled by a Noctua NH-U12S /w Thermal Grizzly Kryonaut on an Asus Zenith Extreme with 32GB G.Skill 3200 CL14 RAM and a Titan Xp - scrolled through my UEFI and there wasn't anything about C-states that could be adjusted. CPU runs 35-40c just fine while idle, and the Titan slowly cools down to 28c at the lowest, so it shouldn't be a heat issue. I have automatic updates and windows defender shit all disabled/deleted too. Hopefully it was just that hybrid sleep crap.
>update to windows 1809 >pc now hangs when trying to enter sleep, have to hold power button I also updated my nvidia drivers around the same time, so maybe that's it.
It's stupid something so simple can get fucked up.

user I think your chinkshit motherboard is non compliant. I've got multiple PCIe devices passed to a piece of shit windows 10 vm and have never had a problem. Are you using UEFI? (Along with the open firmware in the guest?)
