The absolute state of Jow Forums

Fuck off, retard.

Install gentoo
Sudo rm rf /

what do you mean?

your wifi was working up until you moved the tower to hook up to a router?
perhaps something came loose reseat cards

>gentoo
i barley moved it tho, like tower from floor to bed to floor gently moved

is the floor carpeted
carpets cause static and network adapters are the first to go

no but seriously its probably a restriction in your router because you changed physical addresses
login and add an exception

try a new mac address or just wait out the old lease time lol

how do i fix it?

This is a common side effect of The Big Gay

windows

login to your router with browser usually 10.0.0.1
use your current internet connection to solve the fucking problem fagort

Is this supposed to mean something to me, kid?
If you're implying you can't do it in Windows then you're just retarted.

so if I get this right you had a computer online thru wifi, then wiped it and now you're trying to get it online thru ethernet.
1) does wifi on the same computer still work?
2) are you sure the cable is plugged on the right hole of your modem?
3) you tried using only one thing at a time? (wifi with cable removed/ cable with wifi removed)

wiped it 1st but yes to all

i said i already tried network address value

oh ignore my post then
probably not gonna do shit for u

you have anything else using ethernet? do they work?

does your jack light up and blink a lot? Does a light stay on solid?

nope just 1 computer

solid

why are you still running your fucking fingers in this forum?
login to your router and fix the permissions you retard

iirc that's a sign you are nic is not working correctly or there is way too much traffic on the line but I'm just a shitposter

how? im logged in not sure what tab or what to put there

whats nic

your network card

how would i check

you'd try it with known good cables and a known good router and see if it still won't work. If so it's probably broken. Does your router see your device if you use arp? Do you see any addresses on your machine if you use arp?

It will say you have a 169.someshit address but ignore that, it's just a fallback so if your internets really break you can sometimes still do connections on your LAN

also try booting off some linus distro and see if it works, maybe you have some configuration issue with your ancient Windows OS

reset router and modem

my screen looks like yours

did that

you can see your router's MAC address and router? If so then you have some configuration issue and not a hardware problem probably.

Is DHCP turned on in your router? Assuming it is if your wifi works

i have windows, how do i fix it ive been looking in the router options in browser, idk about dhcp but yes wifi is fine

turn off security and reboot router

>how do i fix it
you troubleshoot and locate the problem, then change whatever is causing the problem.

make sure you don't have some mac whitelist on your router, you gotta just go down the list of what could be wrong. Start with the most obvious and easy to fix and keep moving until you find the problem. How do people like you survive in the world anyway?

Forget your networks by resetting your windows network settings and reboot the computer.
