Nice thread!
comfy as fugg
Such beauties
still unironically the best handheld computer in existence
>pre-botnet/tracking device internetless handhelds
Fuck yes, why can't we go back to this? Cellphones should be illegal.
>useful wireless communications technologies that greatly extend the practicality and versatility of a handheld computer == shitty modern quantity-over-quality developer culture and web app garbage
no, go be a luddite elsewhere
Out of the box thinking, very smart.
Eat up Martha

@69631508
fuck off, retard
Was going to get one of those but the rw6828 had phone features.
>@69631508
Congratulations on learning how to quote. Retard.
mad
mentally retarded
This is such a cute yet foul thing.
>internetless
You sound like you're too young to remember, but people actually connected their phone to PDAs and accessed the Internet. It was like very expensive, and even slower, dial-up.
sleep snug, smug
>transparent case
i would pay top dollar to get smartphones like that again
I have one of those. Did siemens really expect it to compete with a palm or pocket pc?
comfy
how difficult would it be to upgrade the internals of one of these?
sleep snug, smug
Even if you could find a board that could fit in the incredibly limited space available you'd still probably end up with some hacked up looking dremeled abortion. Don't even bother.
I still use an Atom UMPC just as it is and it's fine for plenty of shit, web surfing is just slow, though still tolerable.
Palm + iSilo was the best way to read ebooks
Maybe it still is
I never knew this was a thing, I've been using Mobipocket for that shit.
sleep snug, smug
idk what this is for, to keep stock of products or some shit maybe, looks gud
>JerryRigEverything
Get a phone with glass and do it yourself
clear plastic is my fetish
Fucking love these things. Wish there would've been one with more RAM though.
This one is my favorite but I have several others.
>blocks your path
>full pocket computer which runs for a month on a couple pen cells.
I had one of these for years, it broke/self destructed at 12800' elevation. I never replaced it adequately, should get another.
>everything had wireless irda which was easily interfaced with any mac / pc / linux machine of the time
>all irda shit was cross compatible
>low power and across the room range
I used to surf the web with irda in text mode and everything worked.
sleep snug, smug
That line of sight hassle tho
I just stuck my irda thing up on top my shelf, it worked fine.
They're cheap as fuck and a bunch of archives have sprung up recently with tons of re-discovered software for them. It's a great time to be in to PDA shit right now.
fuck yeah i'll do it
It was the killer Palm app for medical professionals for a long while.
nice timing,I was literally just searching for an old but usable Nokia N95 but places like Cell2get don't take any type of prepaid cards so I went through electronicsforce instead hope it arrives soon
I own one of these, I use OpenBSD on it. Everything works, I get 10 hours of runtime with the dual batteries.
It’s great.
I had the dark green version of this
Best PDA I ever had
dos palmtops forever
I want a smart phone made with that textured plastic finish
how does palm go from mobile handset monopoly to 1% market share
sleep smug, snug
Imagine one of these on Android.
Unfortunately almost impossible.
Imagine working with windows CE with such a nice notebook, when you could have a full-fledged PC on >pic related.
Of course, the main selling point of a WinCE machine was battery-life, but even then, I'm not sure that was worth it.
Love this thread, so damn comfy.
Still use this as my main personal phone.
I miss my UX-380N.
The GPD Win has replaced in every aspect, though.
I had one of these buggers running openwrt (not mine pictured). Traded it away. It ran ok for what it was, but I had too hard if a time with the thumb keyboard. I want something just a tad larger.
not in design tho
That Vaio has one of the most unique designs I've ever seen
sleep snug, smug
>nothing but lazy web apps with ads everywhere and ribbon-tier UI that takes up half of the screen
miss me 200% with that gay shit
now Cobalt or even webOS would be another story
Even the camera and touch screen? I'll have to look into it when I pick up another one.
CE's graphics subsystems are terrible but it's still better suited to that form factor than NT or 9x and also more comfortable to use than the Libretto's awkward screen-mounted mouse and cramped keyboard.
I like my 110CT, but if I can run the same application on my 660LX or other CE device I'll usually pick that instead. Plus the battery life really is leagues better, I'm pretty sure those fluffy HPCs got 8-10 hours average while a Libretto maybe netted you 2.
would you mind telling me which charger is that, user?
and now these are really expensive because only collectors have them and the proprietary charger is never included.
>not posting the only handheld that could save the world from Judgment Day
Couldn't you find any even more obscure OS so you would seems more interesting to your fellow virgins?
I was absolutely addicted to them back in the day, these are
a few I had (and used) back then {not in chronological order).
