I miss CRTs and that there were a gazillion personal websites with information, software, and wacky designs, you never knew what you would find. unlike now that everything is centralized in a few websites that copy each other.
heck, I spend 95% of my web time on Jow Forums tbh.
the only good things that happened to the internet were libgen, sci-hub, and maybe the ability to stream video in real time, but then again 99% of that bandwidth is being used as a substitute for tv to keep children occupied.

Everything that was around in the 80s is still around today. There is just more people on the net than there was back there, thanks to smart phones and social media.
Think back to the 90s and 00s, you needed an actual 400-1k+ USD computer and internet access to get on the net. Now you can get a 100 dollar phone and get 10 dollar phone access to get on the net. The entry price has gone down considerably. This is a good thing. You can make bank off these people now, versus having to deal with lil smarter people in the past. The good stuff is still there. BBS are around. Gopher servers are still up. IRC still humming along.
The ones that complain are the ones sitting on instagram salty some solid 7 gril doesn't give them play cause she has thirsty dudes from across the globe liking and thirsting over her pictures 24x7.
