Isn't it dangerous to have one company intercepting every encrypted connection on the planet?

This just in: Monopolies are dangerous, news at 11.

weeeelll...
when you say it like that, yes

Other CDN networks exist, it's not a monopoly.

Akami exists, anyways cloud flare does it for free on small websites....

Why do they do it for free?

They are just feeling charitable... obviously

Reminder to switch to Bitmitigate, because they don't censor sites based on political views.

>inb4 Amazon buys both Cloudflare and Akamai
You heard it here first, folks.

Yeah it's not technically a monopoly, and technically real communism hasn't been tried before

Ok tell me how to browse Jow Forums with bitmitigate
Retard

to be fair, they only dropped the stormer because andrew said something about cloudflare on twitter.

Let Hiromoot know that you would like that.

1. That's even worse.
2. If someone with [correct political views] said it, they wouldn't do it.

Yes,they are very nice "people"...

afai remember, it was perhaps more weev threatening to storm some girls funeral, but regardless, they (Cloudflare) really should have maintained a content-neutral stance, if only in their own best interests. And while I've even less time for the storm crew, Cloudflare can go and get fucked, made their own bed there

>Let Hiromoot know that you would like that.
When has that ever, ever worked?

What? You have something to hide?

>Why do they do it for free?
It's only free for small dip-shit webites that don't have much traffic. They do it for free to get their name out there so they can sell their enterprise solutions.

>tfw i cant afford a cdn, so i just have everything on one vps

I wouldn't worry about it.

Cloudflare is free

>yes we do it for free
>totally private and secure goy you can trust us hehehehe

Am I right in thinking that even their 'Full (strict)' setting for ssl still gives Cloudflare a view of the traffic inside?

When you realize it's not free, you ascend. Some Cloudflare services require you to give them your private certificate which means they can monitor anyone's encrypted traffic and modify it transparently. Even if they don't do harm now they will in the future like everyone else.

>Some Cloudflare services require you to give them your private certificate
Seriously? And people actually do that?

The EU is banning every websites that uses them soon, and that includes Jow Forums.

wtf I love the EU now??

based EU shall save our souls after all

Shit version

This, they are simply nice, trustworthy people in it merely to fulfill their strong compulsion to do public good. Let’s talk about those Super Bowl commercials instead OK?

Cadana?

Who cares about that shithole? This is 4channel.

It's not, though. Retarded Amerikanski.

>Some Cloudflare services require you to give them your private certificate which means they can monitor anyone's encrypted traffic and modify it transparently
What the hell are you talking about? Cloudflare intercepts EVERYTHING on every domain that passes through it, they don't need your certificates, in fact they can and do issue certificates for your domains because they control everything that reaches them

Yes that's completely correct, nothing that goes through cloudflare is encrypted end-to-end, it's always decrypted and processed at cloudflare (they wouldn't be able to cache shit otherwise)
