it's not a joke, i expect serious performance gains from this

>Slow piece of shit… I can smoke the fuck out of this with my 2011 T420 with a couple of simple mods:
>i7-3940XM over clocked to 4.8GHz
>Custom 64MB SPI flash with coreboot and Linux 4.20 burned directly to it
>Higher RPM Toshiba fan and a twin pipe heatsinkk lapped and honed
>Extra water cooling in a custom ultrabase
>Liquid metal thermal paste
>16:10 conversion
>Tri band Wireless AC with webcam delete
>Qualcomm VoLTE modem
>230W power adapter
>ExpressCard external graphics with Radeontm Pro Duo
>Touchpad replaced with a W700ds wacom tablet
>OEM 9 cell Battery
>2xOEM 9 cell slice battery
>2×8GB of 2133MHz low voltage DDR3
>JIS NMB keyboard
>QUAD 20x20x20mm 1u server fans
>30tb samsung ssd ×3 in RAID 0
>Hentai splash screen
>Anime stickers all over the lid
>Thinkpad Bluetooth Laser Mouse with tiddy mousepad when you need to use that

Try harder next time

put a bigger pulley on the motor for mechanical advantage

Such a shame nobody thought of it bef... oh.

nah nah this is pussy shit, my usb powered belt is driving the internal fan.

Someone email Lenovo, make it happen.

wait but what is the fan pointing at?
what are the dimensions of this mod? the USB connector seems to be only slightly smaller than the fan, that's a very small fan my friend! hahaha

I fell for the coolpad meme. I only got a -2 °C degree difference on idle and a -4°C difference on high. It wasn't worth the $20, especially with all the extra noise it makes.

it's the tiny fan in the top left corner of the t420, attached to the heat pipe

I got it solely to lift my laptop off the bed, I don't even plug it in sometimes.
What hardware are you going to remove to make space for the fan?

as i said the fan is already inside, im just gonna drive it with a rubber band, might just remove the USB and hook it up to a car battery though.

Rubber bands don't work at high RPM. Small laptop fans don't work that good either, they're already close to their efficiency limits.

T25... oh its a shitty dualcore for 1800$, pretty sure i haven't seen that anywhere else!

nah nah it's fine, if it breaks i'll superglue it

Something can be not working without being broken. A shocker, isn't it?

duct tape?

Alright guys the prototype is currently under construction

It needs VTEC.

The cooling solution of most Thinkpads is just fine. Not like a 1mm thick cuckbook with i9 that throttles after 20 seconds of load.

It's not great but it does the job. You can rely on it to never cross 95C unless you have a cuck dgpu model.

t. has a 3630qm in a T420 without any power limits set
