This is a very fully-featured kernel.

I'm talking about the Linux os, not the kernel

you're obviously talking about windows because win10 pisses me the fuck off

>barley
gnu+linux is geared more toward people with brains, sorry op

are you fully developed yet?

>the Linux os
What exactly that would be?

>install the latest "fully featured kernel" on a business grade laptop
>idles at 60C, dead wifi, unusable touchpad, no sound

Linux is the most used kernel in the world
Works on my machine

So uh, did you take, uh, wrong turn to reddit?

I was under the impression that bsds are more prominent in networking

My laptop is some chink shit i got on aliexpress. Most of its components are pretty obscure yet everything works fine out of the box with most major distros I threw at it. You're probably the problem, not linux.

OP is obviously retarded and baiting. Let this thread sink

>You're in the 1%.
Thanks, I feel pretty good about it.

weird, works on my machine

>bsds are more prominent in networking
Some argue their network stack is better (I differ), but given that getting people that know linux is easier than on BSDs means more network machines are running linux.

worse is better

Slow and steady wins the race, user!

and this is why not desktop Linux is a pile of shit, but also this raging incel elitism is a magnet for corporate sjw types who will destroy linux from the inside with codes of conduct and social media shaming.

Whats obscure about it?
>yet everything works fine out of the box with most major distros I threw at it
Most things will work fine in linux, but if anything is implemented outside of what is standard or is something that requires specific drivers even in windows there is little chance that it will work in linux
I would expect chinks to not do any fuckery and just make things work with generic drivers

I'd just like to interject for a moment. What you’re referring to as Barley is in fact Barley/Kernel or as I've recently taken to calling it Barley + Kernel. Barley is not a kernel unto itself, rather a type of grass which contains a kernel. There really is a kernel, and these people are using it, but it is just a part of the grass they use.

>buys a craptop that purposefully makes shit hard to interface with
>nothing works
>omg linux sucks hahaha
it is the most used, most scaled, most feature rich kernel that has and ever will exist. Deal with it, kiddo.

and? windows is the worst operating system at everything (except getting viruses) so why is it the most used?
most used means nothing at all, in every scenario.

No. And they're even less prominent in "running the internet" in general.

>so why is it the most used?
It isn't. Linux or Android is.

Windows is the most used if you subdivide the sum of all computers into a category called "desktop" computing and then only look at that. If you look at the parent category of "personal computing", it's no longer Windows already. Windows is in a (dwindling) niche.

OP please do the needful and realize arch is not the only linux distro in this timeline
