Can I have recommendations for a foldable headphone pair?
Ideally not wireless because I'd rather deal with wires than batteries.

It's okay. The more I use it, the less I like it. It's very, very noisy, and if you add another amp downstream of it through the RCA outs, it will pick up that noise, too. It's pretty much unusable when fed directly from a computer, but from my DAC it's only noisy at high volumes.

It powers headphones reasonably well, though. And build quality is fantastic. It has a 100ohm output impedance, which is a really questionable design choice. Apparently having such a high output impedance futzes with tonal balance on low-impedance headphones. It gives the amp an oddly warm sound to it.

I really don't know what to think of it. I certainly wouldn't recommend anyone buy it for the technical specs. I got mine basically for free, since it came with my DT1770s.

I really like them. They are a more balanced headphone than the DT1770, and offer superior isolation. They make for a good travel headphone IMO.

This is what STAX sounds like with real world usage. Lacks sub-bass because they can't seal. This measurement was made using the most advanced GRAS dummy head. Another headphone measurement enthusiast, Rinchoi had to use silicone putty to force a seal when measuring STAX, a problem its competitors such as Audeze do not suffer from.

We can see the second major problem the huge 1.5kHz bump, infamously known as the STAX etch, funnily a poster was complaining about his in the last thread. This makes music sound tinny.

Lastly we can see the veiled treble response from 6kHz onwards. This is what make them sound lifeless.

STAX are an earbud-tier sounding piece of shit with weak sub-bass, weak treble and extremely tinny midrange.

Anyone who thinks they're high fidelity is fucking deaf.

Planars heavily suffer from high output impedance too, not just IEMs.

For $100 the Atom does 8.5V and is probably cleaner. 0.1% THD is quite poor for an amp, atom is like 0.005 before clipping.
