Yo

A friend of mine has recently obtained a supposed "200mw" laser?

What's the best way to power this? Would a 9 volt do? I don't have a powerbench thing to test the current/voltage

Many thanks

Remember to point it directly into your eyes.

I wear protective goggles 24/7 so it would make no difference, so ha.

Have a nice day, Mr mean guy. Hope u feel bad

I don't feel bad.
You're probably gonna feel bad though, since I doubt your 'safety glasses' are laser safety glasses for whatever wavelength that laser is.

give it back jamal

My glasses can take it, punk.

How about you helps me and explain what kinda powersource I need (for my friends laser), point me in the right direction atleast, how do I work out the right voltage I would need for it??

Ask your friend what the voltage is.

Watts = voltage * amps
200mW = 0.2w
0.2W / 0.5A = 0.4V

9V * 0.5A = 4.5W
You're gonna need a resistor

Stop preventing natural selection

He was high when he bought it, so he doesn't know.

A 0.5A resistor? What are the colour bands?

Piss on the laser and give it back. Say "Jamal, give it back"

Racism doesn't make u look kool.

>0.5A resistor
lol, you're retarded, and are going to injure yourself or someone else

Just look up a simple LM317 cc driver circuit.

this nigga doesn't even know what the unit of resistance is

You can very easily google this OP. Fuck off.

Just plug it in power socket
There should be enough electricity for your laser

Ohm my god!

This sounds great...

That's the best information I have had yet in this thread. Can't believe nobody knows. Inb4, use Google.

Duh, that's what I do for all my problems, Google has nothing specifically referencing what I'm trying to do.

You'll put your eye out.

Read the datasheet to see what sort of voltage it takes.
