Jow Forums has kept to the basic structure that makes it great- simple, flat message structure without any over-the-top shit. It's still compatible with extremely old browsers, which allows it to be accessible to people who don't own or can't afford a new computer. It's not like HN is on the absolute forefront of JS-packed bloatware-in-your-browser, either.
