Listening to my a-10s.
My Neumann KH805 should be arriving tomorrow.
two subs!
Only one for now. Maybe I'll but a second one in the future.
Any guesses?
VHS player
It's about the right size for that
ridiculously overpowered i-nuke
Dunno about overpowered for my setup
Amp maybe?
I'm fiddling with mine today. My subs are rated for 400 continuous watts, 800 program, 8-ohm. My CD-2000 makes 560watts at 8 ohms run in stereo. I'm thinking of trying to bridge today and run them as a 4-ohm load on the amp. That would give me 1000 per sub... So a little over but I can limit it.
I have my pallet of 4 full Marty subs coming Monday. Gonna be fun
>Post your weekly audio purchases and such
Who the hell buys audio equipment on a weekly basis? I still have 4 years of down payments on my system xD. Found out that my old DAC I've been keeping in my closet for over a year is worth more used than my Benchmark DAC3 :S
This will be epic
You bought your speakers on a payment plan?
A nice pair of Minimus 7's.
$3
Yeah. My Apartment has increased $50K in value so I thought that I'd take the opportunity to get myself a high-end rig :). My down payment is twice my rent every month xD
What size of a room you have?
Guys, would this work?
Yes
Sort of.
It's probably strong enough to support a bookshelf speaker on top, but the box at the bottom would only be made of 1/4 to 1/2 particle board. A reasonably powerful sub would rattle it apart.
That said, a powered sub / speaker stand combo might be a good idea.
12x28 or 12x25 can't remember exactly how far back it goes
Dig the old realistic stuff.

If you live in an apartment with this much audio gear, I hope you die in a fire.
I live in a house, but yeah when I lived in an apartment I had a small setup. I struggle sleeping with noise so I was always very respectful.
Is this how poor people actually live?
Yup
> hpg
I could never finance audio equipment. That's really senseless m8. I hope you are joking.
Should I?
forget pic...
do it
>I could never finance audio equipment. That's really senseless m8
Why? People finance everything. I have like $40K debt on my apartment+stereo and that's nothing in todays economy, and I have resources worth way more than that. The speakers increased $1600 in price two months after I bought them.
bought all this around 2006 still using it daily.. the amp was build in 1997 BAT VK-200 and I have once had to replace a bridge rectifier a few years ago.
Those Acoustic Zen cables are so fucking cool
they are the Hologram II's and the Interconnects are xlr Silver Reference II's the CDP power cable is a AZ Krakatoa and AC from the PS Audio Duet is the AZ Tsunami Plus while I assembled Oyaide Tunami bulk AC cable with P/C 004 terminations to run from the Oyaide R1 outlet to the Duet.
You really like cables don't you :)
I'm not a big believer in cables, but have on many occasions considered swapping my Audio Quest Water interconnects for Benchmarks own (canare cable with neutrik plugs) and my speaker cables with Supra Rondo 4x2.5 as I think the Benchmark will have better shielding than the Audio Quest and the Rondo having lower resistance and better shielding than my current Supra PLY speaker cable.
All power cables in my system are Supra LORAD 3x2.5
I would like to measure the impedance of my fuse-box and see if I can improve it with another kind of fuse, and if it's worth running LORAD 3x2.5 from the box to my system.
Also, have some nice music:

??
WTF? That's tons of wasted money.
Don't worry. Class D amps are garbage anyway. And Behringer is garbage. Why buy this?
first time on Jow Forums
What's the best affordable small speaker? Shoe box size max
>falling for the cable meme
yikes
If it is for subwoofers, probably not really an issue sound quality wise, but yeah Behringer is shit and there are plenty of alternatives for just a bit more.
yah i am skeptical when I hear people ascribe different "sounds" to different cables... I tend to think this is 100% mental.. at one time i did test different interconnects.. One were Siltech and the other Nordost Tyr both very high end pricey interconnects.. I thought I noticed two distinct qualities... one [Tyr] was something people call 'soundstage' or 'separation' where you sense definition between various instruments as they existed during the recording and the other [Siltech] cables seemed to have an extremely quiet background or low noise floor as the audiophiles might say..
EE's all laugh at people who suggest different conductors create audible differences in output sound.. The idea that the metallurgy can affect signal transmission consists of the idea electron flow can acquire energetic qualities from the transit sounds like the basis for the audiophile notions... the Acoustic Zen and Oyaide zero chrystal copper extrution and annealing process claims to eliminate copper chrystal boundaries that it is said infleunece the current or signal flow... I really can only consider the shielding and insulation of the cables as having discernible affects and those are just rejection of interference, reducing skin effect and capacitance. The type of metal imparting some quality or other to the sound you get from your speakers? Sounds like mythology.
> this
Going much above a basic monoprice co-axial shielded interconnect is a bit pointless.
When I needed a digital cable to use the 24/96 digital input on my CDP I saw lost of expensive options but after studying the facts I just bought a 6' Canare with some nice terminations for like $20 or so..
One place I did have a problem was after I bought this $550 umbilical to run between the power unit and the DAC/Player on my Resolution Audio Opus 21 I read a post where someone emailed Jeff Kalt the designer of the unit about it.. he ships the CDP with a simple computer D Subcompact cable. He replied there was no basis for the use of a .999999 pure silver conductor because the cable merely carried some low level voltage instructions like open drawer, next track etc. so I considered selling it but when I put the stock computer cable in I though I heard a less open result in the sound I put the silver cable back in and it seemed to sound substantially more open and coherent.. I couldn't explain it but I noticed it... then I considered that the cable supplied the DAC with the current from which it creates the signal sent to the Amplifier and over a better conductor like this refined silver and much bigger insulation could allow the DAC to generate that signal with more accuracy.. so i kept it.
oyaide ac cable is too stiff
acrolink is better
supra is shit
they use tin plated copper
hypex ncore is pretty good
>Why buy this?
Seemed like the best option for power needs. And it was recommended a boat load so I figured why not
I hope that cable thing is a joke.
Fuck this trend of laptops not having stereo input jacks anymore. Got this thing for $175 used and it does what it should.
actually the AC cable price retail was off I forgot to add the Krakatoa which at 6' is about $800.
just bought a new edifier 1700bt for 120$ at their site, how did i do? did i screw up? besides from the used market, what else could have i bough that would outperform this speakers?
For analog audio it might make a small difference but with digital audio if you hear it it's as good as it'll get and only the downstream equipment can affect quality.
All you need is balanced connectors and it's golden. The only real worry is the wires to the speakers themselves
Don't die on me
Nice bait, made me reply.
>I still have 4 years of down payments on my system
Hahaha thanks for the laugh.
whats the best no-BS mini amp i can get for my computer. im getting into production and want the best sounds i get can from my pc with out any RGB LED audiophile upmarket shit
SMSL
based single point source speaker
Most of the speakers seem to be powered, are you sure you need separate amp and shit?
No. Bad for placement.
does the aune-s7 have the same output impedance problems as the anune-x7S?
I don't have speaks, I just plug
apple earbuds
straight into my aux
well you're set then
Is my freight pallet here yet?
aune-s7 $570 vs jotenhiem $400
I'd say anything above studio-grade star-quad cables are stupid. A cable can't get much better than that, and audiophile cables with their exclusive materials are often of a inferior geometry so they end up worse.
Pic related, induction hell
>What's the best affordable small speaker?
Depends on how much you can afford. I'd say the most expensive Genelec that you could afford.
balanced vs unbalanced opinions?
Do you have a fork lift?
Balanced is superior in theory, but how it works in practice is a case by case scenario.
I personally would opt for a star-quad balanced cable.
youtu.be
answer niggas
No. They have a lift and pallet jack
Why even bother $120 is what a good cable cost
More pics
unbalanced: schitt modi3 dac $100 + jds atom amp $100 = $200
vs
balanced: smsl su-8-v2 dac $250 + schitt jotenhiem amp $400 = $650
vs
balanced: smsl su-8-v2 dac $250 + aune-S7amp $570 = $820
Have to let it warm up a bit first
How are these?
questyle
not very realistic
Post the lewds
Pre-assembly pics. They still feel cool to the touch so I will meed to wait another hour or 2 still
Fuck
Very nice for what they are. Detailed, open sound.
Owned too many speakers and had to thin out the herd. Brought mine to the thrift store.
